Great Is His Faithfulness
“The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24
We’re hardly even surprised by the unfaithfulness we see in our politicians, in our marriages, in our employers, and in our own selves. Praise the Lord He is completely faithful not only to those He has called into His kingdom, but also to His Word. What He says He will accomplish, He does! His faithfulness is everlasting. When we turn away, He’s faithful to bring us back. As we remain in Him, He’s faithful to grow us spiritually.
The gift of salvation is offered to all mankind, but everyone must make it his own choice to receive and follow Christ. Those two principles exist at the same time in God’s perfectly-ordained design. While He is faithful to complete in us that which He started, we must trust His faithfulness to see it through.
Remember that your story is not complete yet. Nor are the stories of our rebellious kids or our wayward friends. Despite our unfaithfulness, God is steadfastly working His will in our lives and theirs. His faithfulness is our hope. We cannot count on ourselves, but we can fully count on Him.
