Jesus Is the Answer
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well.’” John 14:6-7
If you were driving around in the ‘60s and ‘70s, you probably saw a bumper sticker that many Christians put on their cars which read, “Jesus is the answer.” The phrase was supposed to communicate that Jesus was the answer to the world’s problems. It was much later that I realized more and more who this answer is because He answers the question of who God is.
When we consider God’s attributes, we learn that Jesus, being God’s Son, reveals and manifests them to us. When we think of all the names ascribed to the Father, we see that these, too, are made known to us in Jesus. Is He not our Peace, our Provider, our Shepherd, our Righteousness, our Healer, our Salvation? These and much more are the “boundless riches” (Ephesians 3:8) of who God is that Christ has manifested and has made known to those who believe.
When we first come to believe in Jesus, He gives us eternal life and brings us to the Father, thus making Him known to us. What a wonder this is! Whatever we encounter in this life, Jesus is with us, revealing His Father’s love for us.
