Son Revealed in Us

“When God, who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son in me …, I did not consult any man.” Galatians 1:15-16

Even our best attempts to be like Christ fall short. However, we needn’t grow discouraged. Our inability to perfectly please God is the very reason we need Jesus! God does have a plan, though, to get us to be like Christ. We’ll never attain it on our own strength, but we don’t need to. “He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

The “grace plan” is a different plan altogether than ours. We must realize that our ways are not His ways. God has called us by His grace, and it is He who has set us apart. God makes it possible for us to become more like His Son by revealing His Son in us. Our plan is made up of our own good works, while His “grace plan” is to reveal Jesus in us.

Does having Christ in us mean that life will get easier? Maybe not. In fact, it may grow harder. But it does mean we will understand that Jesus loves us and forgives our sins, so that we will live with Him forever. Praise God He has set us apart from the time we were born, has called us by His grace, and has revealed Jesus in our hearts!
