Christ, Our Provision

“How much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17

God knows our every need and desires to meet our needs. Our greatest and truest need is to know Him. “This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3).

Take inventory of what God has already provided for you beyond the food, clothing, and shelter that come from His hand. He gave His Son as the way for mankind to be reconciled to Himself. The abundant provision God has delivered is Jesus Christ. All of man’s religions and philosophies reject God’s provision, pointing instead to schemes where man provides for himself, where man is in control, where man earns his way into a good life. And where do these lead ultimately? They lead to ever wanting more and never being satisfied.

But when we’ve received God’s gift of His Son through faith, we have a new way to live, a way without constant reaching for more. “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness”
(2 Peter 1:3).
