Christ, Our All in All
“Here there is no Greek or Jew, … slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.” Colossians 3:11
How has your life been since you met the Savior? Many think that following Jesus must be boring, that it’s an imposition on our rights, that it’s nothing more than hypocrisy and rules. I know I viewed Christianity that way earlier in my life.
But as I look back, I realize there were people around me who were beautiful examples of Christian love and godly living. They were people for whom Jesus was their all in all. They were those not so worried about making much of their own lives, but making much of the One who gave His life for them.
Whatever our circumstances, this same Jesus is our all. He comes to us as we stumble through difficult situations, grief, and worry. When Christ is our all in all, our eyes are opened to the ways He meets our every need. We begin to understand His healing might not give a cure to the cancer; His comfort might not mean a return of the lost loved one; His love might include harsh consequences of our sin. Through it all, we learn to trust in Jesus. We see what a hopeful, exciting adventure life is with Him.
