Jesus Appears
“Then he said: ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth.’”
Acts 22:14
Try to imagine what it was like for Paul to see Jesus after His resurrection and ascension. As Paul later shared, he was on the road to Damascus when Christ appeared in blinding glory and spoke directly to him. In that moment, everything changed forever. Once a persecutor of Christians, Paul was now called to be an eyewitness and a bold evangelist for the gospel. When he arrived at the house of Ananias, he received his God-appointed mission: to see and hear Christ so that he could testify to everyone about what he had experienced.
Think back to when you first understood the gospel—when the “scales fell from your eyes” and you stepped out of spiritual darkness into the light of Christ. That moment of freedom, grace, and transformation is as real today as it was then.
Like Paul, we are called to be witnesses in our daily lives. Our testimony may not reach to the ends of the earth, but it will be used so that those around us might also experience the saving power of Jesus. Who in your life needs to know what you have seen and heard?
