Guided by His Strength

“In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.” Exodus 15:13

I hope there have been times in your life when you’ve seen God move in such a way that you couldn’t help but praise Him. That’s how the Israelites felt as they saw their adversaries swallowed up by the waters of the Red Sea. Only God could have saved them in such a miraculous way!

From here they would set out to the Promised Land. Unfortunately, their praises wouldn’t last long. On the first stop of their journey, they encountered bitter, undrinkable water where they immediately resorted to complaining. Then they found themselves hungry and accused Moses and Aaron of leading them into the wilderness to die. They doubted God’s goodness and provision.

We’re quick to these same kinds of complaints and accusations, aren’t we? One day we’re proclaiming the Lord’s faithfulness, and the next day we think He’s abandoned us to suffer alone. Praise God that Moses and the people could still sing to Him, not based on their obedience but because of His steadfast love for them.

God’s love is unfailing, even when ours wavers. Are you resting in it today?
