Celebrate Good News
“How can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.’” Romans 10:15
In Romans 10:1-13, Paul prayed for the salvation of the lost house of Israel. He had been among those blinded by laws and tradition until Jesus revealed Himself to him on the road to Damascus. Paul was in pursuit to capture and even kill those who had strayed from the path of their forefathers. But after he was converted, he was baptized (see Acts 9:18) and soon was spreading the good news of Jesus all over his known world.
As believers, we are called to do the same. It’s not a burden to bear, but rather is a privilege to share with those who have gone before us and are now in that great crowd of witnesses (see Hebrews 12:1). Our witness is not restricted to the words we speak. Our whole lives are a visible testimony presented to those the Lord puts in our path.
On life’s journey, our feet will grow weary and will get dusty. Jesus washed the feet of His own disciples after they were out spreading His good news. He said in John 13:15 that He was setting an example for them so they would do for others what He had done for them.
