M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
24 Also, these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron were Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father and had no children. Therefore, Eleazar and Ithamar executed the Priest’s office.
3 And David distributed them, Zadok of the sons of Eleazar and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their offices in their ministration.
4 And more men were found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar, so they divided them. Among the sons of Eleazar were sixteen heads, according to the household of their fathers. And eight were among the sons of Ithamar, according to the household of their fathers.
5 Thus they distributed them by lot the one from the other. And so the rulers of the Sanctuary and the rulers of the House of God were of the sons of Eleazar and of the sons of Ithamar.
6 And Shemaiah, the son of Nethanel, the scribe of the Levites, wrote them down before the king and the princes and Zadok the Priest and Ahimelech (the son of Abiathar) and the chief fathers of the priests and of the Levites, one family being reserved for Eleazar and another reserved for Ithamar.
7 And the first lot fell to Jehoiarib, and the second to Jedaiah,
8 the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
9 the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
10 the seventh to Hakkoz, the eight to Abijah,
11 the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
12 the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
13 the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
14 the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,
15 the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez,
16 the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezekel,
17 the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,
18 The twenty-third to Delaiah, and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.
19 These were their orders, according to their offices when they entered into the House of the LORD, according to their custom under the hand of Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had Commanded him.
20 And these are who remained of the sons of Levi. Of the sons of Amram was Shubael. Of the sons of Shubael was Jehdeiah.
22 Of Izhari was Shelomoth. Of the sons of Shelomoth was Jahath.
23 And his sons were Jeriah, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
24 The son of Uzziel was Michah. The son of Michah was Shamir.
25 The brother of Michah was Isshiah. The son of Isshiah was Zechariah.
26 The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah was Beno.
27 The sons of Merari by Jaaziah were Beno and Shoham and Zaccur and Ibri.
28 Of Mahli came Eleazar, who had no sons.
29 Of Kish, the son of Kish was Jerahmeel.
30 And the sons of Mushi were Mahli and Eder and Jerimoth. These were sons of the Levites, after the household of their fathers.
31 And these also cast lots with their brethren, the sons of Aaron, before King David and Zadok and Ahimelech and the chief fathers of the priests and of the Levites, the chief of the families along with their younger brethren.
25 So, David and the captains of the army separated the sons of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun for the ministry, who would sing prophesies with harps, with viols, and with cymbals. And this is the number of the men for the office of their ministry.
2 Of the sons of Asaph were Zaccur and Joseph and Nethaniah and Asharelah. The sons of Asaph were under the hand of Asaph, who sang prophecies by the commission of the king.
3 Of Jeduthun were the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah and Zeri and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah and Mattithiah, six under the hands of their father. Jeduthun sang prophecies with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.
4 Of Heman were the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti and Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir and Mahazioth.
5 All these were the sons of Heman, the king’s Seer in the Words of God to lift up the horn. And God gave fourteen sons and three daughters to Heman.
6 All these were under the hand of their father, singing in the House of the LORD with cymbals, viols and harps, for the service of the House of God. And Asaph and Jeduthun and Heman were at the king’s commandment.
7 So their number, with their brethren who were instructed in the songs of the LORD, of all who were skilled, was two hundred eighty-eight.
8 And they cast lots for duties, small as well as great, the skilled man with the student.
9 And the first lot of Asaph fell to Joseph. The second fell to Gedaliah, with his brethren. And he had twelve sons.
10 The third fell to Zaccur. His sons and his brethren were twelve.
11 The fourth fell to Jizri, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
12 The fifth fell to Nethaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
13 The sixth fell to Bukkiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
14 The seventh fell to Jesharelah, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
15 The eighth fell to Jeshaiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
16 The ninth fell to Mattaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
17 The tenth fell to Shimei, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
18 The eleventh fell to Azarel, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
19 The twelfth fell to Hashabiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
20 The thirteenth fell to Shubael, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
21 The fourteenth fell to Mattithiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
22 The fifteenth fell to Jeremoth, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
23 The sixteenth fell to Hananiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
24 The seventeenth fell to Joshbekashah, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
25 The eighteenth fell to Hanani, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
26 The nineteenth fell to Mallothi, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
27 The twentieth fell to Eliathah, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
28 The twenty-first fell to Hothir, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
29 The twenty-second fell to Giddalti, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
30 The twenty-third fell to Mahazioth, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
31 The twenty-fourth fell to Romamti-Ezer, his sons and his brethren, twelve.
5 I encourage the elders among you. I am also an elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ and also a partaker of the Glory that shall be revealed.
2 Feed the flock of God which depends on you. Care for it - not by compulsion, but voluntarily; not greedily, but eagerly;
3 not as though you were Lords over God’s estate, but that you may be examples to the flock.
4 And when that chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive an incorruptible crown of Glory.
5 Likewise, you younger people, submit yourselves to the elders. And everyone submit yourselves one to another. Clothe yourselves inwardly in humility. For “God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.”
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time.
7 Cast all your cares on Him. For He cares for you.
8 Be sober, and watch. For your adversary, the devil, walks about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
9 Steadfastly resist him in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brothers who are in the world.
10 And the God of all grace - Who has called us to His eternal Glory by Christ Jesus - will, after you have suffered a little, make you perfect; will confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
11 To Him be glory and dominion, forever and ever. Amen.
12 By Silvanus (a faithful brother to you, I reckon) I have written briefly, exhorting and testifying how that this in which you stand is the true grace of God.
13 She who is at Babylon, elected together with you, salutes you; and Mark, my son.
14 Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
3 “And I said, ‘Hear now, O heads of Jacob, and you princes of the House of Israel. Should not you know judgment?’
2 “They hate good and love evil. They strip their skin from them, and their flesh from their bones.
3 “And they also eat the flesh of My people, and strip off their skin from them. And they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as if for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.”
4 Then they shall cry to the LORD, but He will not hear them. He will hide His Face from them at that time, because they have done wickedly in their works.
5 Thus says the LORD: “Concerning the prophets who deceive My people, and bite them with their teeth, and cry, ‘Peace!’ But if a man puts nothing into their mouths, they prepare war against him.
6 “Therefore, night shall be to you for a vision, and darkness to you for a divination. And the Sun shall go down over the prophets. And the day shall be dark over them.
7 “Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the soothsayers confounded. Yea, they shall all cover their lips, for they have no answer from God.”
8 Yet indeed I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of strength, to declare to Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
9 Please hear this, you heads of the House of Jacob, and princes of the House of Israel. They abhor judgment and pervert all that is right.
10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
11 Their heads judge for rewards, and their priests teach for hire, and their prophets prophesy for money. Yet they will lean upon the LORD and say, “Is not the LORD among us? No evil can come upon us.”
12 Therefore, for your sake, shall Zion be plowed as a field. And Jerusalem shall be a heap and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
12 In the meantime, there gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, so that they trampled one another. And He began to say to His disciples first, “Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2 “For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed or hidden that shall not be known.
3 “Therefore, whatever you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light. And that which you have spoken in the ear, in secret places, shall be preached on the houses.
4 “And I say to you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but after that are not able to do anymore.
5 “But I will forewarn you of Whom you shall fear. Fear Him Who, after He has killed, has power to cast into Hell. Yes, I say to you, fear Him.
6 “Are not five sparrows bought for two assaria? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.
7 “Yes, and all the hairs of your head are numbered. Therefore, do not fear. You are of more value than many sparrows.
8 “Also I say to you whoever shall confess Me before man, him shall the Son of Man also confess before the angels of God.
9 “But whoever shall deny Me before man shall be denied before the angels of God.
10 “And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him. But to him who shall blaspheme the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven.
11 “And when they shall bring you to the synagogues, and to the rulers and princes, take no thought how or what you shall answer, or what you shall speak.
12 “For the Holy Ghost shall teach you at the same hour what you ought to say.”
13 And one of the crowd said to Him, “Master, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
14 And He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or a divider over you?”
15 Therefore He said to them, “Perceive and beware of covetousness. For though one has abundance, his life does not consist of his riches.”
16 And He put forth a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth fruits plentifully.
17 “Therefore he thought to himself, saying, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my fruits?’
18 “And He said, ‘I will do this. I will pull down my barns and build bigger ones. And I will gather all my grain and my goods in there.
19 ‘And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Live at ease. Eat, drink, and be merry!”
20 “But God said to him, ‘O fool! This night your soul shall be required from you. Then whose things shall those be which you have provided?
21 “So is the one who gathers riches for himself and is not rich toward God.”
22 And He spoke to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you take no thought for your life (what you shall eat) or for your body (what you shall wear).
23 “Life is more than food, and the body than the clothing.
24 “Consider the ravens. For they neither sow nor reap. Nor do they have storehouse or barn. And yet God feeds them. How much better are you than birds?
25 “And who of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
26 “If you then are not able to do the least thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27 “Consider how the lilies grow. They neither labor nor spin. Yet I say to you that Solomon himself, in all his royalty, was not clothed like one of these.
28 “If then God so clothes the grass (which is in the field today, and tomorrow is cast into the oven) how much more will he clothe you? O you of little faith!
29 “Therefore, do not ask what you shall eat or what you shall drink, or have an anxious mind.
30 “For the people of the world all seek for such things. And your Father knows that you need these things.
31 “But rather, seek the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.
32 “Do not fear, little flock. For it is your Father’s pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
33 “Sell what you have and give alms. Make purses which do not grow old - a treasure that can never fail in Heaven - where no thief comes or moth destroys.
34 “For where your treasure is, there your hearts will be also.
35 “Let your waist be girded, your lights burning,
36 “and you yourselves like men who wait for their master to return from the wedding feast. So that when he comes and knocks, they may open to him immediately.
37 “Blessed are those servants whom the Lord shall find awake when He comes. Truly I say to you, He will gird himself, make them sit down at table, and come forth and serve them.
38 “And if He comes in the second watch, or comes in the third watch, and shall find them so, blessed are those servants.
39 “Now understand this: that if the good man of the house had known at what hour the thief would have come, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.
40 “Therefore, you also be prepared. For the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not suspect.”
41 Then Peter said to Him, “Master, did You tell this parable only to us, or to everyone?”
42 And the Lord said, “Who is a faithful steward, and wise; whom the master shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in season?
43 “Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, shall find so doing.
44 “Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has.
45 “But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master delays his coming’, and begins to beat the servants and maidens, and to eat and drink and get drunk,
46 “the master of that servant will come on a day he does not suspect, and at an hour when he is unaware, and will cut him off, and give him his portion with the unbelievers.
47 “And that servant who knew his master’s will and neither prepared himself nor did according to his will, shall be beaten with many lashes.
48 “But the one who did not know it and still committed things worthy of lashes, shall be beaten with few. For to whom much is given, much shall be required. And to whom much has been committed, much more will be requested.
49 “I have come to cast fire on the Earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!
50 “But I must be baptized with a baptism, and how I am grieved till it be accomplished.
51 “Do you think that I have come to give peace on Earth? I tell you no, but rather division.
52 “For from now on there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 “The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”
54 Then He said to the people, “When you see a cloud rise out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower comes.’ And so it does.
55 “And when the south wind blows, you say that it will be hot. And it happens.
56 “Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the Earth and of the sky. But why can you not discern this time?
57 “Indeed, and why do you not judge what is right even among yourselves?
58 “While you go with your adversary to the ruler, work diligently on the way to be delivered from him. Lest he draws you to the judge and the judge delivers you to the jailer. And the jailer casts you into prison.
59 I tell you, you shall not depart from there till you have paid the last cent.
