Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
LAMED
89 O LORD, Your Word endures forever in Heaven.
90 Your Truth is from generation to generation. You have laid the foundation of the Earth, and it abides.
91 They continue even to this day by Your Ordinances, for all are Your servants.
92 Except Your Law had been my delight, I should now have perished in my affliction.
93 I will never forget Your Precepts, for by them You have quickened me.
94 I am Yours. Save me. For I have sought Your Precepts.
95 The wicked have waited for me to destroy me, but I will consider Your Testimonies.
96 I have seen the end of all perfection; but Your Commandment is exceedingly large.
27 Then the Word of the LORD came to Jeremiah (after the king had burnt the scroll and the Words that Jeremiah had dictated to Baruch) saying,
28 “Again, take another scroll. And write in it all the former Words that were in the first scroll which Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, has burnt.
29 “And you shall say to Jehoiakim, king of Judah, ‘Thus says the LORD: “You have burnt this scroll, saying, ‘Why have you written in it, saying that the king of Babel shall certainly come and destroy this land and shall cause man and beast to cease from there?’”
30 ‘Therefore thus says the LORD of Jehoiakim, king of Judah: “He shall have no one to sit upon the throne of David. And his dead body shall be cast out in the heat of the day and to the frost of the night.
31 “And I will visit him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity. And I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the misery that I have pronounced against them. But they would not hear.”’”
32 Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote in it, from the dictation of Jeremiah, all the Words of the Book which Jehoiakim, king of Judah, had burnt in the fire. And many similar Words were also added to them.
38 And He rose up, and came out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever, and they required Him for her.
39 Then He stood over her and rebuked the fever. And it left her. And immediately she arose and ministered to them.
40 Now at sunset, all those who had sick of diverse diseases, brought them to Him. And He laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.
41 And demons also came out of many, crying, and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” But He rebuked them and did not allow them to say that they knew Him to be the Christ.
42 And when it was day, He departed and went forth into a desert place. And the people sought Him, and came to Him, and kept Him from leaving.
43 But He said to them, “Surely I must also preach the Kingdom of God to other cities. For that is why I was sent.”
44 And He preached in the synagogues of Galilee.
