Version
Psalm 29

29 Give to the LORD, you sons of the Mighty. Give to the LORD glory and strength.

Give to the LORD glory due His Name. Worship the LORD in the glorious Sanctuary.

The voice of the LORD is upon the waters. The God of Glory makes it thunder. The LORD is upon the great waters.

The voice of the LORD is mighty. The voice of the LORD is glorious.

The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars. Indeed, the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

He also makes them leap like a calf, Lebanon and Shirion like a young unicorn.

The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.

The voice of the LORD makes the wilderness tremble. The LORD makes the wilderness of Kadesh tremble.

The voice of the LORD makes the hinds calve and discovers the forests. In His Temple, every man speaks of His Glory.

10 The LORD sits upon the floods; and the LORD remains King forever.

11 The LORD shall give strength to His people. The LORD shall bless His people with peace. A Psalm or song of the dedication of the House of David.

Ecclesiastes 2:1-11

I said in my heart, “Come now, I will test you with pleasure. Therefore, enjoy yourself.” And behold, this also is vanity.

I said of laughter, “It is madness,” and of joy, “What does it accomplish?”

I sought in my heart to give myself to wine while leading my heart in wisdom, and to take hold of folly until I might see what goodness there is for the children of men to do under the heaven all the days of their life.

I have made my great works. I have built myself houses. I have planted vineyards.

I have made myself gardens and orchards and planted all fruit trees in them.

I have made myself cisterns of water with which to water the woods that grow with trees.

I have gotten servants and maids and had children in the house. Also, I had a great possession of herds and flocks above all who were before me in Jerusalem.

I have also gathered to me silver and gold and the chief treasures of kings and provinces. I have provided myself men singers and women singers and the delights of the sons of men, a woman taken captive and women taken captives.

And I was great and increased above all who were before me in Jerusalem. My wisdom remained with me also.

10 And whatever my eyes desired I did not withhold from them. I did not withdraw my heart from any pleasure; for my heart rejoiced in all my labor. And this was my reward for all my labor.

11 Then I looked on all my works that my hands had wrought, and on the work that I had labored to do. And behold, all is vanity and grasping at the wind. And there is no profit under the Sun.

1 Corinthians 2:1-10

And I, brothers, when I came to you, came not with excellency of words, or of wisdom, showing to you the testimony of God.

For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

And I was among you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

Neither my word nor my preaching was in the enticing speech of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.

So that your faith would not be in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God.

Rather, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, which come to nothing,

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, having been hidden, which God predetermined to our glory before the world,

and which none of the princes of this world have known. For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.

But as it is written, ‘The things which neither eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor have come into man’s heart, are those which God has prepared for those who love Him.’

10 But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.
