Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
5 Your mercy, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, and Your faithfulness to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains. Your judgments are like a great deep. You, LORD, save man and beast.
7 How excellent is Your mercy, O God! Therefore, the children of men trust under the shadow of Your wings.
8 They shall be satisfied with the fatness of Your House; and You shall give them drink out of the river of Your pleasures.
9 For with You is the well of life; and in Your Light shall we see light.
10 Extend Your lovingkindness to those who know You, and Your righteousness to those who are upright in heart.
3 “They say, ‘If a man puts away his wife, and she goes from him, and becomes another man’s, shall he return again to her? Shall not this land be polluted?’ But you have played the harlot, with many lovers, yet turn again to me,” says the LORD.
2 “Lift up your eyes to the high places, and behold where you have not played the harlot. You have sat, waiting for them on the way, as the Arabian in the wilderness. And you have polluted the land with your whoredoms, and with your malice.
3 “Therefore the showers have been restrained, and the latter rain came not, and you had a whore’s forehead. You would not be ashamed.
4 “Did you not still cry to Me, ‘You are My Father, the guide of my youth?
5 ‘Will He keep His anger forever? Will He reserve it to the end?’ Thus have you spoken, but you still do evil, more and more.”
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the Apostles’ hands, the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 saying, “Give me this power also! So that whomever I lay hands upon may receive the Holy Ghost!”
20 Then Peter said to him, “Your money dies with you because you think that the gift of God may be obtained with money.
21 “You have neither part nor fellowship in this Word. For your heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 “Therefore repent of this, your wickedness. And pray to God that if it be possible, the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
23 “For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.”
24 Then Simon answered, and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of these things which you have spoken come upon me!”
