The Passover

16 “‘The Lord’s Passover will be on the fourteenth day of the first month [Ex. 12:1–20; Lev. 23:4–8; Deut. 16:1–8]. 17 The Feast of Unleavened Bread begins on the fifteenth day of that month. For seven days, you may eat only bread made without ·yeast [leaven]. 18 Have a ·holy meeting [sacred/solemn convocation] on the first day of the festival, and don’t work that day. 19 Bring to the Lord an offering made by fire, a burnt offering [Lev. 1:1–17] of two young bulls, one ·male sheep [ram], and seven male lambs a year old. They must have ·nothing wrong with them [no blemish]. 20 With each bull give a ·grain [L gift; tribute] offering [Lev. 2:1] of ·six quarts [L three-tenths of an ephah] of ·fine [choice] flour mixed with olive oil. With the ·male sheep [ram] it must be ·four quarts [L two-tenths of an ephah] of ·fine [choice] flour mixed with oil. 21 With each of the seven lambs, it must be ·two quarts [L one-tenth of an ephah] of ·fine [choice] flour mixed with oil. 22 Bring one goat as a ·sin [or purification] offering [Lev. 4:3], to ·remove your sins so you will belong to God [make atonement for yourself]. 23 Bring these offerings in addition to the burnt offerings [Lev. 1:1–17] you give every morning. 24 So bring food for the offering made by fire each day for seven days, for a smell that is pleasing to the Lord. Do it in addition to the daily burnt offering [Lev. 1:1–17] and its drink offering. 25 On the seventh day have a holy meeting [sacred/solemn convocation], and don’t work that day.

The Feast of Weeks

26 “‘On the day of firstfruits when you bring new grain to the Lord during the Feast of Weeks [Lev. 23:15–23], have a ·holy meeting [sacred/solemn convocation]. Don’t work that day. 27 Bring this burnt offering [Lev. 1:1–17] to the Lord: two young bulls, one ·male sheep [ram], and seven male lambs a year old. This smell is pleasing to the Lord. 28 Also, with each bull give a ·grain [L gift; tribute] offering [Lev. 2:1] of ·six quarts [L three-tenths of an ephah] of ·fine [choice] flour mixed with oil. With the ·male sheep [ram], it must be ·four quarts [L two-tenths of an ephah] of flour, 29 and with each of the seven lambs offer ·two quarts [L one-tenth of an ephah] of flour. 30 Offer one male goat to ·remove your sins so you will belong to God [make atonement for yourself]. 31 Bring these offerings and their drink offerings in addition to the daily burnt offering [Lev. 1:1–17] and its ·grain [L gift; tribute] offering [Lev. 2:1]. The animals must have ·nothing wrong with them [no blemish].

The Feast of Trumpets

29 “‘Have a ·holy meeting [sacred/solemn convocation] on the first day of the seventh month, and don’t work on that day. That is the day you blow the trumpets. Bring these burnt offerings [Lev. 1:1–17] as a smell pleasing to the Lord: one young bull, one ·male sheep [ram], and seven male lambs a year old. They must have ·nothing wrong with them [no blemish]. With the bull give a ·grain [L gift; tribute] offering [Lev. 2:1] of ·six quarts [L three-tenths of an ephah] of ·fine [choice] flour mixed with oil. With the ·male sheep [ram] offer ·four quarts [L two-tenths of an ephah], and with each of the seven lambs offer ·two quarts [L one-tenth of an ephah]. Offer one male goat for a ·sin [or purification] offering [Lev. 4:3] to ·remove your sins so you will belong to God [make atonement for yourself]. These offerings are in addition to the monthly [28:11–15] and daily burnt offerings [28:1–8; Lev. 1:1–17]. Their ·grain [L gift; tribute] offerings [Lev. 2:1] and drink offerings must be done as you have been told. These offerings are made by fire to the Lord, and their smell is pleasing to him.

The Day of Atonement

“‘Have a ·holy meeting [sacred/solemn convocation] on the tenth day of the seventh month [Lev. 16; 23:26–32]. On that day do not eat and do not work. With the ·male sheep [ram] it must be ·four quarts [L two-tenths of an ephah], 10 and with each of the seven lambs it must be ·two quarts [L one-tenth of an ephah]. 11 Offer one male goat as a ·sin [or purification] offering [Lev. 4:3]. This will be in addition to the sin [or purification] offering [Lev. 4:3] which ·removes your sins [makes atonement for you], the daily burnt offering [28:1–8; Lev. 1:1–17] with its ·grain [L gift; tribute] offering [Lev. 2:1], and the drink offerings.

Psalm 62

Trust Only in God

For the director of music. For Jeduthun [C a Levitical musician; 1 Chr. 16:41–42; 25:1, 6; 2 Chr. 5:12]. A psalm of David.

62 I ·find rest [wait quietly] in God;
    only he can ·save me [give me victory].
He is my rock [61:2] and my ·salvation [victory].
    He is my ·defender [fortress];
I will not be ·defeated [shaken].

How long will you ·attack [assault] someone?
    Will all of you ·kill [murder] that person?
    Who is like a leaning wall, like a fence ·ready to fall [that totters; C the wicked take advantage of the weak]?
They are planning to make that person ·fall [totter].
    They enjoy telling lies.
With their mouths they bless,
    but in their ·hearts [L innards] they curse. ·Selah [Interlude]

I ·find rest [wait quietly] in God;
    ·only he gives me hope [L for my hope is in him].
He is my rock [61:2] and my ·salvation [victory].
    He is my ·defender [fortress];
    I will not be ·defeated [shaken].
My ·honor [glory] and ·salvation [victory] come from God.
    He is my ·mighty [strong] rock and my ·protection [refuge].

People, ·trust [have confidence in] God all the time.
    ·Tell him all your problems [L Pour out your heart before him],
because God is our ·protection [refuge]. ·Selah [Interlude]

The least of people are only a ·breath [vapor; bubble; vanity],
    and even the greatest are just a ·lie [delusion].
On the scales, they ·weigh nothing [L go up];
    together they are only a ·breath [vapor; bubble; vanity].
10 Do not ·trust [have confidence] in ·force [oppression; extortion].
    Stealing is ·of no use [meaningless].
Even if you gain more riches,
    don’t ·put your trust in [L set your heart on] them.

11 God has said this once,
    and I have heard it ·over and over [L twice]:
    God is strong.
12 The Lord is ·loving [loyal].
    You ·reward [repay] people for what they have done [1 Pet. 1:17; Rev. 20:12–13; 22:12].

Proverbs 11:18-19

18 An evil person ·really earns nothing [gets false/deceptive wages],
but a ·good [righteous] person will surely be rewarded.

19 Those who are ·truly good [righteous] will live,
but those who chase after evil will die.
