And behold, there was a man named Joseph, a council member, and he was a good man and a just.
And behold, a man named Joseph, who was a councillor, a good and righteous man
A man named Joseph, who was a member of the Council (Sanhedrin, Jewish High Court), a good and honorable man
Now notice, there was a man named Joseph from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council (the Sanhedrin), and a good (upright, advantageous) man, and righteous (in right standing with God and man),
And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:
There was a good and righteous man named Joseph, a member of the Sanhedrin,
Now there was a man named Joseph who was a member of the council. He was a good and righteous man.
There was a man named Yosef, a member of the Sanhedrin. He was a good man, a tzaddik;
There was a man named Joseph, who was from Arimathea in Judea. Joseph was a good and honest man, and he was eager for God's kingdom to come. He was also a member of the council, but he did not agree with what they had decided.
And behold, a man named Joseph, who was a councillor, a good man and a just
And behold, there was a man, Joseph by name— being a council-member and a good and righteous man
And behold there was a man named Joseph, who was a counsellor, a good and just man,
A man named Joseph was there from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a good man, who lived the way God wanted. He was waiting for God’s kingdom to come. Joseph was a member of the Jewish council. But he did not agree when the other Jewish leaders decided to kill Jesus.
A man called Joseph was also there. He was one of a special group of important Jewish leaders. He was a good man that wanted to do right things.
Now there was a man named Joseph, from the Jewish town of Arimathea, who was a member of the Council, a good and righteous man.

There was a good man who had God’s approval. His name was Joseph. He was a member of the Jewish council,
There was a man named Joseph from Arimathea, a town in Judea. He was a good and honorable man, who was waiting for the coming of the Kingdom of God. Although he was a member of the Council, he had not agreed with their decision and action.
There was a good and righteous man named Joseph, a member of the Sanhedrin,
A man from the Jewish town of Arimathea was there, too. His name was Joseph. He was a good, religious man. He wanted the kingdom of God to come. Joseph was a member of the Jewish council, but he had not agreed when the other leaders decided to kill Jesus.
Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and righteous man—
Now there was a man called Joseph, a member of the Jewish council. He was a good and just man, and had neither agreed with their plan nor voted for their decision. He came from the Jewish city of Arimathaea and was awaiting the kingdom of God. He went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. He took it down and wrapped it in linen and placed it in a rock-hewn tomb which had not been used before.
¶ And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a senator; and he was a good man and just

And behold, a man named Joseph, who was a member of the council, a good and righteous man
Then a man named Joseph, a member of the Jewish Supreme Court, from the city of Arimathea in Judea, went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. He was a godly man who had been expecting the Messiah’s coming and had not agreed with the decision and actions of the other Jewish leaders.
There was a man by the name of Joseph, a member of the Jewish High Council, a man of good heart and good character. He had not gone along with the plans and actions of the council. His hometown was the Jewish village of Arimathea. He lived in alert expectation of the kingdom of God. He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Taking him down, he wrapped him in a linen shroud and placed him in a tomb chiseled into the rock, a tomb never yet used. It was the day before Sabbath, the Sabbath just about to begin.
Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, who was a good and just man.

There was a good man who had God’s approval. His name was Joseph. He was a member of the Jewish council,

And lo! a man, Joseph by name, of Arimathaea, a city of Judaea, that was a decurion, a good man and a just, [And lo! a man, Joseph by name, that was a decurion, or having ten under him, a good man and just,]
And lo, a man, by name Joseph, being a counsellor, a man good and righteous,
