And all the people who came together to that sight, beholding the things which had been done, smote their breasts and returned.
And all the multitudes that came together to this sight, when they beheld the things that were done, returned smiting their breasts.
All the crowds who had gathered for this spectacle, when they saw what had happened, began to return [to their homes], beating their breasts [as a sign of mourning or repentance].
And all the throngs that had gathered to see this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned to their homes, beating their breasts.
And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.

A very big crowd had come together to watch the men die. They saw what had happened. Then they began to go home. They were very sad, and they were hitting their own bodies with their hands.
When all the groups of people who had gathered to see this spectacle saw what had happened, they returned home beating their chests.
And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home beating their breasts.
