Version
Psalm 33:12-22

12 Blessed is the (A)nation whose God is Yahweh,
The people whom He has (B)chosen for His own inheritance.

13 Yahweh (C)looks from heaven;
He (D)sees all the sons of men;
14 From (E)the place of His habitation He gazes
On all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 He who (F)forms [a]the hearts of them all,
He who (G)understands all their works.
16 (H)The king is not saved by a mighty army;
A warrior is not delivered by great strength.
17 A (I)horse is a false hope for salvation;
Nor does it provide escape to anyone by its great strength.

18 Behold, (J)the eye of Yahweh is on those who fear Him,
On those who (K)wait for His lovingkindness,
19 To (L)deliver their soul from death
And to keep them alive (M)in famine.
20 Our soul (N)is patient for Yahweh;
He is our (O)help and our shield.
21 For our (P)heart is glad in Him,
Because we trust in His holy name.
22 Let Your lovingkindness, O Yahweh, be upon us,
As we wait for You.

Job 37:1-13

Elihu Speaks of God’s Voice

37 “At this also my heart trembles,
And leaps from its place.
[a]Listen closely to the (A)thunder of His voice,
And the rumbling that goes out from His mouth.
Under the whole heaven He lets it loose,
And His [b]lightning to the (B)ends of the earth.
After it, a voice roars;
He thunders with His majestic voice,
And He does not restrain [c]the lightnings when His voice is heard.
God (C)thunders with His voice marvelously,
Doing (D)great things which we do not know.
For to (E)the snow He says, ‘Fall on the earth,’
And to the (F)downpour of rain and the downpour of rains, ‘Be strong.’
He (G)seals the hand of every man,
That (H)all men may know His work.
Then the beast goes into its (I)lair
And dwells in its [d]den.
Out of the [e](J)south comes the storm,
And out of the [f]north the cold.
10 From the breath of God (K)ice is made,
And the expanse of the waters is frozen.
11 Also with moisture He (L)loads the thick cloud;
He (M)scatters (N)the cloud of His [g]lightning.
12 It changes direction, turning around by His guidance,
That [h]it may do whatever He (O)commands [i]it
On the (P)face of the inhabited earth.
13 Whether for [j](Q)correction, or for (R)His world,
Or for (S)lovingkindness, He causes it to [k]happen.

1 Corinthians 15:50-57

50 Now I say this, brothers, that (A)flesh and blood cannot (B)inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the corruptible inherit (C)the incorruptible. 51 Behold, I tell you a (D)mystery: we will not all sleep, but we will all be (E)changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For (F)the trumpet will sound, and (G)the dead will be raised incorruptible, and (H)we will be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on (I)the incorruptible, and this (J)mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this corruptible puts on the incorruptible, and this mortal puts on immortality, then will come about the word that is written, “(K)Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 (L)O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 56 Now the sting of (M)death is sin, and (N)the power of sin is the law; 57 but (O)thanks be to God, who gives us the (P)victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
