Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
12 Blessed is the (A)nation whose God is Yahweh,
The people whom He has (B)chosen for His own inheritance.
13 Yahweh (C)looks from heaven;
He (D)sees all the sons of men;
14 From (E)the place of His habitation He gazes
On all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 He who (F)forms [a]the hearts of them all,
He who (G)understands all their works.
16 (H)The king is not saved by a mighty army;
A warrior is not delivered by great strength.
17 A (I)horse is a false hope for salvation;
Nor does it provide escape to anyone by its great strength.
18 Behold, (J)the eye of Yahweh is on those who fear Him,
On those who (K)wait for His lovingkindness,
19 To (L)deliver their soul from death
And to keep them alive (M)in famine.
20 Our soul (N)is patient for Yahweh;
He is our (O)help and our shield.
21 For our (P)heart is glad in Him,
Because we trust in His holy name.
22 Let Your lovingkindness, O Yahweh, be upon us,
As we wait for You.
6 (A)Your right hand, O Yahweh, is majestic in power,
(B)Your right hand, O Yahweh, shatters the enemy.
7 And in the greatness of Your [a]exaltation You (C)pull down those who rise up against You;
(D)You send forth Your burning anger, and it (E)devours them as chaff.
8 (F)And at the blast of Your nostrils the waters were piled up,
(G)The flowing waters stood up like a heap;
The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 (H)The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will (I)divide the spoil;
My [b]desire shall be fulfilled against them;
I will draw out my sword, my hand will dispossess them.’
10 (J)You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them;
(K)They sank like lead in the [c]mighty waters.
11 (L)Who is like You among the gods, O Yahweh?
Who is like You, (M)majestic in holiness,
(N)Fearsome in praises, (O)working wonders?
37 Now on (A)the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “[a](B)If anyone is thirsty, [b]let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, (C)as the Scripture said, ‘From [c]his innermost being will flow rivers of (D)living water.’” 39 But this He spoke (E)of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were going to receive; for (F)the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet (G)glorified.
