Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Sing to Yahweh a New Song
A Psalm.
98 Sing to Yahweh a (A)new song,
For He has done (B)wondrous deeds,
His (C)right hand and His (D)holy arm have [a]worked out His salvation.
2 (E)Yahweh has made known His salvation;
He has (F)revealed His righteousness in the eyes of the nations.
3 He has (G)remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
(H)All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
44 Then Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people, he and [a](A)Joshua the son of Nun. 45 Then Moses finished speaking all these words to all Israel, 46 and he said to them, “(B)Place in your heart all the words with which I am warning you today, which you shall command (C)your sons to be careful to do, even all the words of this law. 47 For it is not an idle word for you; indeed (D)it is your life. And (E)by this word you will prolong your days in the land, [b]which you are about to cross the Jordan to [c]possess.”
42 And calling them to Himself, Jesus *said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them. 43 But it is not this way among you, (A)but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; 44 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man (B)did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His [a]life a ransom for many.”
