Psalm 119:65-72

Teth

65 You have dealt well with your servant,
    O Lord, (A)according to your word.
66 Teach me (B)good judgement and knowledge,
    for I believe in your commandments.
67 (C)Before I was afflicted I went astray,
    but now I keep your word.
68 (D)You are good and do good;
    (E)teach me your statutes.
69 (F)The insolent (G)smear me with lies,
    but with my whole heart I (H)keep your precepts;
70 their heart is unfeeling (I)like fat,
    but I (J)delight in your law.
71 It is (K)good for me that I was afflicted,
    that I might learn your statutes.
72 (L)The law of your mouth is better to me
    than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

Leviticus 16:1-5

The Day of Atonement

16 The Lord spoke to Moses after (A)the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before the Lord and died, and the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron your brother not to (B)come at any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat that is on the ark, so that he may not die. For (C)I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat. But in this way Aaron shall come into the Holy Place: (D)with a bull from the herd for a sin offering and (E)a ram for a burnt offering. He shall put on (F)the holy linen coat and shall have the linen undergarment on his body, and he shall tie the linen sash round his waist, and wear the linen turban; these are the holy garments. (G)He shall bathe his body in water and then put them on. And he shall take from (H)the congregation of the people of Israel two male goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.

Leviticus 16:20-28

20 “And when he has made an end of (A)atoning for the Holy Place and the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall present the live goat. 21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall (B)put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness. 22 The goat shall (C)bear all their iniquities on itself to a remote area, and (D)he shall let the goat go free in the wilderness.

23 “Then Aaron shall come into the tent of meeting and (E)shall take off the linen garments that he put on when he went into the Holy Place and shall leave them there. 24 And he shall bathe his body in water in a holy place and put on his garments and come out and (F)offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people and make atonement for himself and for the people. 25 And (G)the fat of the sin offering he shall burn on the altar. 26 And he who lets the goat go to (H)Azazel shall wash his clothes and (I)bathe his body in water, and afterwards he may come into the camp. 27 (J)And the bull for the sin offering and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be carried outside the camp. Their skin and their flesh and their dung shall be burned up with fire. 28 And he who burns them shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and afterwards he may come into the camp.

Matthew 21:18-22

Jesus Curses the Fig Tree

18 (A)In the morning, as he was returning to the city, (B)he became hungry. 19 (C)And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.

20 When the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither at once?” 21 And Jesus answered them, (D)“Truly, I say to you, (E)if you have faith and (F)do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, (G)‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea’, it will happen. 22 And (H)whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, (I)if you have faith.”
