Psalm 119:65-72

Teth

65 You have dealt well with your servant,
    O Lord, (A)according to your word.
66 Teach me (B)good judgement and knowledge,
    for I believe in your commandments.
67 (C)Before I was afflicted I went astray,
    but now I keep your word.
68 (D)You are good and do good;
    (E)teach me your statutes.
69 (F)The insolent (G)smear me with lies,
    but with my whole heart I (H)keep your precepts;
70 their heart is unfeeling (I)like fat,
    but I (J)delight in your law.
71 It is (K)good for me that I was afflicted,
    that I might learn your statutes.
72 (L)The law of your mouth is better to me
    than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

Leviticus 4:27-31

27 “If (A)any one of the common people sins unintentionally in doing any one of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, and realizes his guilt, 28 (B)or the sin which he has committed is made known to him, he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed. 29 (C)And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and kill the sin offering in the place of burnt offering. 30 And the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar. 31 And (D)all its fat he shall remove, (E)as the fat is removed from the peace offerings, and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a (F)pleasing aroma to the Lord. (G)And the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.

Leviticus 5:14-16

Laws for Guilt Offerings

14 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 15 (A)“If anyone commits a breach of faith and sins unintentionally in any of the holy things of the Lord, (B)he shall bring to the Lord as his compensation, a ram without blemish out of the flock, valued[a] in silver shekels,[b] according to the (C)shekel of the sanctuary, for a guilt offering. 16 He shall also make restitution for what he has done amiss in the holy thing and (D)shall add a fifth to it and give it to the priest. (E)And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering, and he shall be forgiven.

1 Peter 2:11-17

11 Beloved, I urge you (A)as sojourners and exiles (B)to abstain from the passions of the flesh, (C)which wage war against your soul. 12 (D)Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honourable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, (E)they may see your good deeds and glorify God on (F)the day of visitation.

Submission to Authority

13 (G)Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution,[a] whether it be to the emperor[b] as supreme, 14 or to governors as sent by him (H)to punish those who do evil and (I)to praise those who do good. 15 For this is the will of God, (J)that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. 16 (K)Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but (L)living as servants[c] of God. 17 (M)Honour everyone. (N)Love the brotherhood. (O)Fear God. Honour the emperor.
