Psalm 119:1-24

I Love Your Law, O Yahweh

Aleph

119 How blessed are those whose way is [a](A)blameless,
Who (B)walk in the law of Yahweh.
How blessed are those who (C)observe His testimonies,
They (D)seek Him (E)with all their heart.
They also do not (F)work unrighteousness;
They walk in His ways.
You have (G)commanded us,
To keep Your precepts [b]diligently.
Oh may my (H)ways be established
To (I)keep Your statutes!
Then I (J)shall not be ashamed
When I look [c]upon all Your commandments.
I shall (K)give thanks to You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
I shall keep Your statutes;
Do not (L)forsake me utterly!

Beth

How can a young man keep his way pure?
By (M)keeping it according to Your word.
10 With (N)all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me (O)stray from Your commandments.
11 Your word I have (P)treasured in my heart,
That I may not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O Yahweh;
(Q)Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have (R)recounted
All the (S)judgments of Your mouth.
14 I have (T)rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
[d]As much as in all riches.
15 I will (U)muse upon Your precepts
And look upon (V)Your ways.
16 I shall [e](W)delight in Your statutes;
I shall (X)not forget Your word.

Gimel

17 (Y)Deal bountifully with Your slave,
That I may live and keep Your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold
Wonderful things from Your law.
19 I am a (Z)sojourner in the earth;
Do not hide Your commandments from me.
20 My soul is crushed [f](AA)with longing
For Your judgments at all times.
21 You (AB)rebuke the arrogant, [g]the (AC)cursed,
Who (AD)stray from Your commandments.
22 (AE)Take away reproach and contempt from me,
For I (AF)observe Your testimonies.
23 Even though (AG)princes sit and talk against me,
Your slave (AH)muses on Your statutes.
24 Your testimonies also are my (AI)delight;
They are [h]my counselors.

Psalm 12-14

Yahweh Will Set the Needy in Safety

For the choir director. According to the [a]Sheminith. A Psalm of David.

12 Save, O Yahweh, for (A)the holy man ceases to be,
For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.
They (B)speak worthlessness to one another;
With a (C)flattering lip and with a double heart they speak.
May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips,
The tongue that (D)speaks great things;
Who (E)have said, “With our tongue we will prevail;
Our lips are [b]our own; who is lord over us?”
“Because of the (F)devastation of the afflicted, because of the groaning of the needy,
Now (G)I will arise,” says Yahweh; “I will (H)set him in the [c]safety for which he [d]longs.”

The (I)words of Yahweh are pure words;
As silver (J)tried in a furnace on the ground, refined seven times.
You, O Yahweh, will keep them;
You will (K)guard him from this generation forever.
The (L)wicked strut about on every side
When [e](M)vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

How Long, O Yahweh?

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

13 How long, O Yahweh? Will You (N)forget me forever?
How long (O)will You hide Your face from me?
How long shall I (P)take counsel in my soul,
Having (Q)sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

(R)Look and answer me, O Yahweh my God;
(S)Give light to my eyes, lest I (T)sleep the sleep of death,
Lest my enemy (U)says, “I have overcome him,”
And (V)my adversaries rejoice that I am shaken.

But I have (W)trusted in Your lovingkindness;
My heart shall (X)rejoice in Your salvation.
I will (Y)sing to Yahweh,
Because He has (Z)dealt bountifully with me.

There Is No One Who Does Good

For the choir director. Of David.

14 The [f]wicked fool (AA)says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They act corruptly, they commit abominable [g]deeds;
There is (AB)no one who does good.
Yahweh (AC)looks down from heaven upon the sons of men
To see if there is anyone who [h](AD)has insight,
Anyone who (AE)seeks after God.
They have all (AF)turned aside, altogether they have become [i]worthless;
There is (AG)no one who does good, not even one.

Do all the workers of iniquity (AH)not know,
Who (AI)eat up my people as they eat bread,
And (AJ)do not call upon Yahweh?
There they are in great dread,
For God is with the (AK)righteous generation.
You would put to shame the counsel of the afflicted,
But Yahweh is his (AL)refuge.

Oh, that (AM)the salvation of Israel [j]would come out of Zion!
When Yahweh [k](AN)restores His captive people,
May Jacob rejoice, may Israel be glad.

Daniel 2:17-30

God Reveals Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream

17 Then Daniel went to his house and made the matter known to his friends, to (A)Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 18 so that they might (B)seek compassion from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his friends would not be (C)destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a night (D)vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven; 20 Daniel answered and said,

“Let the name of God be (E)blessed forever and ever,
For (F)wisdom and might belong to Him.
21 And He (G)changes the times and the seasons;
He (H)removes kings and [a]establishes kings;
He gives (I)wisdom to wise men
And knowledge to [b]men of understanding.
22 He (J)reveals the deep and hidden things;
(K)He knows what is in the darkness,
And the (L)light dwells with Him.
23 To You, O (M)God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise,
For You have given me (N)wisdom and might;
Even now You have made known to me what we (O)sought from You,
For You have made known to us the king’s matter.”

24 Therefore, Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon; he went and said thus to him: “(P)Do not destroy the wise men of Babylon! Bring me before the king, and I will declare the interpretation to the king.”

25 Then Arioch hurriedly (Q)brought Daniel before the king and said thus to him: “I have found a man among the [c](R)exiles from Judah who can make the interpretation known to the king!” 26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was (S)Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen and its interpretation?” 27 Daniel answered before the king and said, “As for the mystery about which the king is asking, neither (T)wise men, conjurers, [d]magicians, nor diviners are able to declare it to the king. 28 However, there is a (U)God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will take place in the [e](V)last days. This was your dream and the (W)visions of your head while on your bed. 29 As for you, O king, while on your bed your thoughts [f]turned to what would happen [g]in the future; and (X)He who reveals mysteries has made known to you what will happen. 30 But as for me, this mystery has not been revealed to me by any (Y)wisdom which is in me more than in any other living man, but for the purpose of making the interpretation known to the king, and that you may know the (Z)thoughts of your heart.

1 John 2:12-17

12 I am writing to you, (A)little children, because (B)your sins have been forgiven you for His name’s sake. 13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you have known Him (C)who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because (D)you have overcome (E)the evil one. I have written to you, children, because [a](F)you have known the Father. 14 I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him (G)who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are (H)strong, and the (I)word of God abides in you, and (J)you have overcome the evil one.

Do Not Love the World

15 Do not love (K)the world nor the things in the world. (L)If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, (M)the lust of the flesh and (N)the lust of the eyes and (O)the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 (P)And the world is passing away, and also its lusts, but the one who (Q)does the will of God abides forever.

John 17:20-26

20 “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; (A)even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, (B)so that the world may [a]believe that (C)You sent Me. 22 The (D)glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 (E)I in them and You in Me, that they may be [b]perfected [c]in unity, so that the world may [d]know that (F)You sent Me, and (G)loved them, even as You have loved Me. 24 Father, I desire that (H)they also, whom You have given Me, (I)be with Me where I am, so that they may see My (J)glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before (K)the foundation of the world.

25 “O (L)righteous Father, [e]although (M)the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that (N)You sent Me; 26 and (O)I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that (P)the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
