Find Your Home in Jesus
“They are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.” Revelation 7:15
Many of us feel homeless in this wilderness world. For some of us, our earthly homes were not safe places to learn and grow and thrive. We are not only well-acquainted with our sin, but with our shame—like Ruth the Moabitess. It is hard to shake the feeling that we can never truly belong to God or His people because of all our many failures.
This is why my wife and I love the church. When we gather on the Lord’s Day, King Jesus speaks tenderly to us through the preaching of the Word. And we are surrounded by our adopted family—people who will not only accompany us in this age but in the age to come. Jesus offers us a better welcome than Boaz because He has adopted us into His family by His own blood.
Delight in this earthly family, and look forward to your forever home in the presence of Christ Jesus. We taste of it now, but we will feast upon this reality in eternity. In His presence, we will neither hunger nor thirst ever again. We will worship amongst the throng of His people, and there will be no more tears. We will be Home!
