Romans 7:9

For I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died;
And I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died;
I was once alive without [knowledge of] the Law; but when the commandment came [and I understood its meaning], sin became alive and I died [since the Law sentenced me to death].
Once I was alive, but quite apart from and unconscious of the Law. But when the commandment came, sin lived again and I died (was sentenced by the Law to death).
For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
Once I was alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life again
I used to be alive without the Law, but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life,
I was once alive outside the framework of Torah. But when the commandment really encountered me, sin sprang to life,
Before I knew about the Law, I was alive. But as soon as I heard that command, sin came to life,
But *I* was alive without law once; but the commandment having come, sin revived, but *I* died.
And I was once alive apart from the Law. But the commandment having come, sin became-alive
And I lived some time without the law. But when the commandment came, sin revived,
Before I knew the law, I was alive. But when I heard the law’s command, sin began to live,
As for me, there was a time when I did not know God's laws. I was living without any law to obey. But when I learned about that command, sin now had power in my life.
Once I was alive without the law. But when this commandment came, sin came to life,
I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died.
I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died.
I was alive ·before I knew [or before I recognized the demands of; L apart from] the law [C Paul thought he was righteous; see Phil. 3:6]. But when the law’s command ·came to me [or came to my attention; L came], then sin ·began to live [sprang to life], and I died [C the law revealed Paul’s sinfulness and confirmed he was spiritually dead].
For I once was alive, without the law: but when the commandment came, sin revived,
At one time I was alive without any laws. But when this commandment came, sin became alive
I myself was once alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life,
Once I was alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life
I was alive without the law before I knew the law. But when the law’s command came to me, then sin began to live.
At one time I was alive without any connection to the Law. But when the rule was revealed, sin sprang to life,
But the sin in me, finding in the commandment an opportunity to express itself, stimulated all my covetous desires. For sin, in the absence of the Law, has no chance to function technically as “sin”. As long, then, as I was without the Law I was, spiritually speaking, alive. But when the commandment arrived, sin sprang to life and I “died”. The commandment, which was meant to be a direction to life, I found was a sentence to death. The commandment gave sin an opportunity, and without my realising what was happening, it “killed” me.
So that without the law I lived for some time; but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
Now I was once alive apart from the Law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died;
And I was alive once, apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life
That is why I felt fine so long as I did not understand what the law really demanded. But when I learned the truth, I realized that I had broken the law and was a sinner, doomed to die.
Don’t you remember how it was? I do, perfectly well. The law code started out as an excellent piece of work. What happened, though, was that sin found a way to pervert the command into a temptation, making a piece of “forbidden fruit” out of it. The law code, instead of being used to guide me, was used to seduce me. Without all the paraphernalia of the law code, sin looked pretty dull and lifeless, and I went along without paying much attention to it. But once sin got its hands on the law code and decked itself out in all that finery, I was fooled, and fell for it. The very command that was supposed to guide me into life was cleverly used to trip me up, throwing me headlong. So sin was plenty alive, and I was stone dead. But the law code itself is God’s good and common sense, each command sane and holy counsel.
I was alive without the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
I · was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, · sin came to life
At one time I was alive without any laws. But when this commandment came, sin became alive
I once lived outside the law, but when the commandment came, sin became alive;
I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin came to life, and I died;
I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin became alive and I died;
I lived apart from the Law, but when the commandment came, sin came to life,
I was alive before I knew the law. But when the law’s command came to me, then sin began to live,
And I was once alive apart from the law, but with the coming of the commandment sin became alive
Before I knew about the law, I was alive. But then the commandment came. Sin came to life, and I died.
Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.
Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.
I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.
I was once alive. That was when I did not know what the Law said I had to do. Then I found that I had broken the Law. I knew I was a sinner. Death was mine because of the Law.
At one time I lived without understanding the law. But when I learned the command not to covet, for instance, the power of sin came to life,
I once lived without law. But when the commandment came, sin revived, and I was dead.
I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived
I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived
I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived
I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived
I was once alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life
And in the absence of the Torah I was once alive. But when the mitzvoh (commandment) came [BERESHIS 2:16-17), Chet (Sin) became alive,
For I was once alive apart from the Law. But when the Commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died;
I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died;
Once I was alive apart from the Torah; but when the commandment came, sin came to life
There was a time when I was living without the law, but the commandment came and changed everything: sin came to life, and I died.
I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
Once I had no law, and I lived. But when the law came, that which wanted to do wrong things came to life, and I died.
And I lived [Forsooth I lived] without the law sometime; but when the commandment was come, sin lived again. But I was dead,
And I was alive apart from law once, and the command having come, the sin revived, and I died;
