Romans 7:1

Know ye not, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), how the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
Or are ye ignorant, brethren (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law hath dominion over a man for so long time as he liveth?
Or do you not know, brothers and sisters (for I am speaking to those who know the Law), that the Law has jurisdiction [to rule] over a person as long as he lives?
Do you not know, brethren—for I am speaking to men who are acquainted with the Law—that legal claims have power over a person only for as long as he is alive?
Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
Since I am speaking to those who know the law, brothers and sisters, don’t you know that the law rules over someone as long as he lives?
Brothers and sisters, I’m talking to you as people who know the Law. Don’t you know that the Law has power over someone only as long as he or she lives?
Surely you know, brothers — for I am speaking to those who understand Torah — that the Torah has authority over a person only so long as he lives?
My friends, you surely understand enough about law to know that laws only have power over people who are alive.
Are ye ignorant, brethren, (for I speak to those knowing law,) that law rules over a man as long as he lives?
Or do you not know, brothers (for I am speaking to ones knowing the Law), that the Law lords-over the person for as much time as he lives?
Know you not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) that the law hath dominion over a man, as long as it liveth?
Brothers and sisters, you all understand the Law of Moses. So surely you know that the law rules over people only while they are alive.
My Christian friends, you know about laws. You know that we have to obey them. The laws have authority over someone while they are still alive.
Or don’t you know, brothers (since I am speaking to those who know the law), that a law has jurisdiction over a person only as long as he lives?
Or do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives?
Or do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives?
Brothers and sisters, all of you understand the ·law of Moses [L law]. So surely you know that the law ·rules [has authority] over people only while they are alive.
1 He declareth what it is, to be no more under the Law, 2 by an example taken of the Law of marriage, 7, 12 And lest the Law should seem faulty, 14 he proveth, that our sin is the cause, 2, 5 that the same is an occasion of death, 17 which was given us unto life. 21 He setteth out the battle between the flesh and the spirit. Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the Law) that the Law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
Don’t you realize, brothers and sisters, that laws have power over people only as long as they are alive? (I’m speaking to people who are familiar with Moses’ Teachings.)
Certainly you will understand what I am about to say, my friends, because all of you know about law. The law rules over people only as long as they live.
Since I am speaking to those who understand law, brothers, are you unaware that the law has authority over someone as long as he lives?
Brothers, all of you understand the law of Moses. So surely you know that the law rules over a person only while he is alive.
Don’t you realize, brothers—for I am speaking to people who know the Law—that the Law can press its claims over a person only as long as he is alive?
You know very well, my brothers (for I am speaking to those well acquainted with the subject), that the Law can only exercise authority over a man so long as he is alive. A married woman, for example, is bound by law to her husband so long as he is alive. But if he dies, then his legal claim over her disappears. This means that, if she should give herself to another man while her husband is alive, she incurs the stigma of adultery. But if, after her husband’s death, she does exactly the same thing, no one could call her an adulteress, for the legal hold over her has been dissolved by her husband’s death.
¶ Know ye not, brethren (for I speak to those that know the law), that the law has dominion over a man only as long as he lives?
Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
Or do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is master over a person as long as he lives?
Or do you not know, brothers (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law is master of a person for as long a time as he lives?
Don’t you understand yet, dear Jewish brothers in Christ, that when a person dies the law no longer holds him in its power?
You shouldn’t have any trouble understanding this, friends, for you know all the ins and outs of the law—how it works and how its power touches only the living. For instance, a wife is legally tied to her husband while he lives, but if he dies, she’s free. If she lives with another man while her husband is living, she’s obviously an adulteress. But if he dies, she is quite free to marry another man in good conscience, with no one’s disapproval.
Do you not know, brothers (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?
Or do you not know, brethren (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law is binding on a person only so long as he lives?
Don’t you realize, brothers and sisters, that laws have power over people only as long as they are alive? (I’m speaking to people who are familiar with Moses’ Teachings.)
Are you unaware, brothers (for I am speaking to people who know the law), that the law has jurisdiction over one as long as one lives?
Or do you not know, brothers and sisters (for I am speaking to those who know the Law), that the Law has jurisdiction over a person as long as he lives?
Or do you not know, brethren (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law has jurisdiction over a person as long as he lives?
Are you aware, brethren (for I am certain that you are people who have knowledge of the Law), that a person is bound by the Law only during that person’s lifetime?
Brothers and sisters, all of you understand the law of Moses. So surely you know that the law rules over people only while they are alive.
Or do you not know, brothers and sisters (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law is lord over a person as long as he lives?
Brothers and sisters, I am speaking to you who know the law. Don’t you know that the law has authority over someone only as long as they live?
Do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives?
Do you not know, brothers and sisters – for I am speaking to those who know the law – that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives?
Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?
Christian brothers, I am sure you understand what I am going to say. You know all about the Law. The Law has power over a man as long as he lives.
Now, dear brothers and sisters—you who are familiar with the law—don’t you know that the law applies only while a person is living?
Do you not consider, brethren (I speak to people who know the law), that the law has dominion over a person as long as it endures?
Do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only during that person’s lifetime?
Do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only during that person’s lifetime?
Do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only during that person’s lifetime?
Or do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only during that person’s lifetime?
Surely you know, my dear family—I am, after all, talking to people who know the law!—that the law rules a person as long as that person is alive?
Do you not have da’as, Achim b’Moshiach, for I speak to those who know the Torah, that the Torah exercises marut (authority, rule) over a man so long as he lives?
Do you not know, brothers, (for I speak to those who know the Law) that the Law has dominion over a man for as long as he lives?
Do you not know, brethren—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only during his life?
Do you not know, brethren—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only during his life?
Or do you not know, brothers and sisters (for I speak to those who know law), that the law is master over a person as long as he lives?
My brothers and sisters who are well versed in the law, don’t you realize that a person is subject to the law only as long as he is alive?
Or don’t you know, brothers (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man for as long as he lives?
My brothers, I am saying this to you people who know the law. Do you not know that the law is master over a person only while he lives?
Brethren, whether ye know not; for I speak to men that know the law; for the law hath lordship in a man, as long time as he liveth?
Are ye ignorant, brethren -- for to those knowing law I speak -- that the law hath lordship over the man as long as he liveth?
