And He said unto them, “What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another as ye walk and are sad?”
And he said unto them, What communications are these that ye have one with another, as ye walk? And they stood still, looking sad.
Then Jesus asked them, “What are you discussing with one another as you walk along?” And they stood still, looking brokenhearted.
And He said to them, What is this discussion that you are exchanging (throwing back and forth) between yourselves as you walk along? And they stood still, looking sad and downcast.
And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
Then he asked them, “What is this dispute that you’re having with each other as you are walking?” And they stopped walking and looked discouraged.
He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk along?” They stopped, their faces downcast.
He asked them, “What are you talking about with each other as you walk along?” They stopped short, their faces downcast;
Jesus asked them, “What were you talking about as you walked along?” The two of them stood there looking sad and gloomy.
And he said to them, What discourses are these which pass between you as ye walk, and are downcast?
And He said to them, “What are these words which you are exchanging with one another while walking?” And they stood [still], sad-faced.
And he said to them: What are these discourses that you hold one with another as you walk, and are sad?
He asked them, “What’s this I hear you discussing with each other as you walk?” The two men stopped, their faces looking very sad.
Jesus asked them, ‘What are you talking about while you walk along the road?’ They stood still and they seemed sad.
He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk along?” Saddened, they stopped.
And he said to them, “What is this conversation that you are holding with each other as you walk?” And they stood still, looking sad.
And he said to them, “What is this conversation that you are holding with each other as you walk?” And they stood still, looking sad.
Then he said, “What are these things you are ·talking about [discussing] while you walk?” The two followers stopped, looking ·very sad [downcast].
And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another as ye walk and are sad?
He asked them, “What are you discussing?” They stopped and looked very sad.

Then He asked them, “What is this dispute that you’re having with each other as you are walking?” And they stopped walking and looked discouraged.
Then he said, “What are these things you are talking about while you walk?” The two followers stopped. Their faces were very sad.
He asked them, “What are you discussing with each other as you’re walking along?” They stood still and looked gloomy.
Then on the same day we find two of them going off to Emmaus, a village about seven miles from Jerusalem. As they went they were deep in conversation about everything that had happened. While they were absorbed in their serious talk and discussion, Jesus himself approached and walked along with them, but something prevented them from recognising him. Then he spoke to them, “What is all this discussion that you are having on your walk?”
And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another as ye walk and are sad?

And He said to them, “What are these words that you are discussing with one another as you are walking?” And they stood still, looking sad.
And he said to them, “What are these matters that you are discussing with one another as you are walking along?” And they stood still, looking sad.
“You seem to be in a deep discussion about something,” he said. “What are you so concerned about?” They stopped short, sadness written across their faces.
He asked, “What’s this you’re discussing so intently as you walk along?” They just stood there, long-faced, like they had lost their best friend. Then one of them, his name was Cleopas, said, “Are you the only one in Jerusalem who hasn’t heard what’s happened during the last few days?”
He said to them, “What kind of communication are you sharing with one another while you are walking and are sad?”
He said · to them, “What are · these matters that you are discussing with each other as you walk along?” · They came to a stop, looking sad.
He asked them, “What are you discussing?” They stopped and looked very sad.
He asked them, “What are you discussing as you walk along?” They stopped, looking downcast.
And He said to them, “What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?” And they came to a stop, looking sad.
And He said to them, “What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?” And they stood still, looking sad.
He asked them, “What are you discussing with each other as you walk along?” They stood still, their faces filled with sadness.
Then he said, “What are these things you are talking about while you walk?” The two followers stopped, looking very sad.
Then he said to them, “What are these matters you are discussing so intently as you walk along?” And they stood still, looking sad.

He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?” They stood still, their faces downcast.
He asked them, ‘What are you discussing together as you walk along?’ They stood still, their faces downcast.
And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?”
He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk?” They stood still and looked sad.
He asked them, “What are you discussing so intently as you walk along?” They stopped short, sadness written across their faces.
And he said to them, What sort of conversations are these that you are having with each other as you walk and are sad?
And he said to them, ‘What are you discussing with each other while you walk along?’ They stood still, looking sad.
And he said to them, ‘What are you discussing with each other while you walk along?’ They stood still, looking sad.
And he said to them, “What are you discussing with each other while you walk along?” They stood still, looking sad.
And he said to them, “What are you discussing with each other while you walk along?” They stood still, looking sad.
“You’re obviously having a very important discussion on your walk,” he said; “what’s it all about?” They stood still, a picture of gloom.
And he said to them, What dvarim (words) are these which you are exchanging with one another as you are walking along? And they stood with a look of agmat nefesh (tzubrochen, broken-hearted).
And He said to them, “What kind of conversations are these that you are having as you walk and are sad?”
And he said to them, “What is this conversation which you are holding with each other as you walk?” And they stood still, looking sad.
And he said to them, “What is this conversation which you are holding with each other as you walk?” And they stood still, looking sad.
Then He said to them, “What are these things you are discussing with one another as you are walking along?” They stood still, looking gloomy.
Jesus: You two seem deeply engrossed in conversation. What are you talking about as you walk along this road? They stop walking and just stand there, looking sad.
He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”
One of them named Cleophas answered him. He said, `Are you a stranger in Jerusalem and do not know what has happened there these last days?'
And he said to them, What be these words, that ye speak together wandering, and ye be sorrowful?
and he said unto them, `What [are] these words that ye exchange with one another, walking, and ye are sad?'
