James 5:5

Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth and been wanton. Ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
Ye have lived delicately on the earth, and taken your pleasure; ye have nourished your hearts in a day of slaughter.
On the earth you have lived luxuriously and abandoned yourselves to soft living and led a life of wanton pleasure [self-indulgence, self-gratification]; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
[Here] on earth you have abandoned yourselves to soft (prodigal) living and to [the pleasures of] self-indulgence and self-gratification. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
You have lived luxuriously on the earth and have indulged yourselves. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
You have lived a self-satisfying life on this earth, a life of luxury. You have stuffed your hearts in preparation for the day of slaughter.
You have led a life of luxury and self-indulgence here on earth — in a time of slaughter, you have gone on eating to your heart’s content.
While here on earth, you have thought only of filling your own stomachs and having a good time. But now you are like fat cattle on their way to be butchered.
Ye have lived luxuriously on the earth and indulged yourselves; ye have nourished your hearts [as] in a day of slaughter;
You lived-in-luxury upon the earth, and you lived-indulgently. You fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
You have feasted upon earth: and in riotousness you have nourished your hearts, in the day of slaughter.
Your life on earth was full of rich living. You pleased yourselves with everything you wanted. You made yourselves fat, like an animal ready for the day of slaughter.
During your life here on this earth, you have had all that you wanted. You have lived like kings. You have eaten as much food as you want. So now you are like fat animals that are ready for men to kill.
You have lived for pleasure on the earth and led a life of luxury. You have fattened your hearts on the day of slaughter.
You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
Your life on earth was full of ·rich living [luxury] and ·pleasing yourselves with everything you wanted [pleasure; self-indulgence]. You made ·yourselves [L your hearts] fat, ·like an animal ready to be killed [in/for a day of slaughter; C a farm animal gorging itself, unaware it is being fattened for slaughter].
Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and in wantonness. Ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
You have lived in luxury and pleasure here on earth. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter.
Your life here on earth has been full of luxury and pleasure. You have made yourselves fat for the day of slaughter.
You have lived luxuriously on the land and have indulged yourselves. You have fattened your hearts for the day of slaughter.
Your life on earth was full of rich living. You pleased yourselves with everything you wanted. You made yourselves fat, like an animal ready to be killed.
You have lived in luxury and pleasure on earth. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter.
And now, you plutocrats, is the time for you to weep and moan because of the miseries in store for you! Your richest goods are ruined, your hoard of clothes is moth-eaten, your gold and silver are tarnished. Yes, their very tarnish will be the evidence of your wicked hoarding and you will shrink from them as if they were red-hot. You have made a fine pile in these last days, haven’t you? But look, here is the pay of the reaper you hired and whom you cheated, and it is shouting against you! And the cries of the other labourers you swindled are heard by the Lord of Hosts himself. Yes, you have had a magnificent time on this earth, and have indulged yourselves to the full. You have picked out just what you wanted like soldiers looting after battle. You have condemned and ruined innocent men in your career, and they have been powerless to stop you.
Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth and been wanton; ye have refreshed your hearts, as in the day of slaughter of sacrifices.
Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
You have lived luxuriously on the earth and lived in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
You have lived self-indulgently on the earth and have lived luxuriously. You have fattened your hearts in the day of slaughter.
You have spent your years here on earth having fun, satisfying your every whim, and now your fat hearts are ready for the slaughter.
All the workers you’ve exploited and cheated cry out for judgment. The groans of the workers you used and abused are a roar in the ears of the Master Avenger. You’ve looted the earth and lived it up. But all you’ll have to show for it is a fatter than usual corpse. In fact, what you’ve done is condemn and murder perfectly good persons, who stand there and take it. * * *
