Do ye think that the Scripture saith in vain, “The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy”?
Or think ye that the scripture speaketh in vain? Doth the spirit which he made to dwell in us long unto envying?
Or do you think that the Scripture says to no purpose that the [human] spirit which He has made to dwell in us lusts with envy?
Or do you suppose that the Scripture is speaking to no purpose that says, The Spirit Whom He has caused to dwell in us yearns over us and He yearns for the Spirit [to be welcome] with a jealous love?
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The Spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
Or do you think it’s without reason that the Scripture says: The spirit he made to dwell in us envies intensely?
Or do you suppose that scripture is meaningless? Doesn’t God long for our faithfulness in the life he has given to us?
Or do you suppose the Scripture speaks in vain when it says that there is a spirit in us which longs to envy?
Do you doubt the Scriptures that say, “God truly cares about the Spirit he has put in us”?
Think ye that the scripture speaks in vain? Does the Spirit which has taken his abode in us desire enviously?
Or do you think that the Scripture speaks vainly? He yearns jealously for the spirit which He made-to-dwell in us!
Or do you think that the scripture saith in vain: To envy doth the spirit covet which dwelleth in you?
Do you think the Scriptures mean nothing? The Scriptures say, “The Spirit God made to live in us wants us only for himself.”
The Bible says, ‘God has caused his Spirit to live in us. He wants very much to keep us for himself.’ Do you think that is not true?
Or, do you think that Scripture has no reason for saying that the Spirit, who lives in us, yearns jealously?
Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”?
Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”?
Do you think the Scripture ·means nothing that says [or says for no reason], ·“The Spirit that God made to live in us wants us for himself alone”? [or “God yearns jealously for the spirit he has made to live in us”?; or “The spirit God placed within us tends to jealously desire things”?; C for God’s jealousy for his people see Ex. 20:5; 34:14; Zech. 8:2].
Do ye think that the Scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us, lusteth after envy?
Do you think this passage means nothing? It says, “The Spirit that lives in us wants us to be his own.”
Don't think that there is no truth in the scripture that says, “The spirit that God placed in us is filled with fierce desires.”
Or do you think it’s without reason the Scripture says that the Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously?
Do you think the Scripture means nothing? It says, “The Spirit that God made to live in us wants us for himself alone.”
Or do you think the Scripture means nothing when it says that the Spirit that God caused to live in us jealously yearns for us?
You are like unfaithful wives, flirting with the glamour of this world, and never realising that to be the world’s lover means becoming the enemy of God! Anyone who deliberately chooses to love the world is thereby making himself God’s enemy. Do you think what the scriptures have to say about this is a mere formality? Or do you imagine that this spirit of passionate jealousy is the Spirit he has caused to live in us? No, he gives us grace potent enough to meet this and every other evil spirit, if we are humble enough to receive it. That is why he says: ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’
Do ye think that the scripture says in vain, The spirit that dwells in us lusts to envy?
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”?
Or do you think that in vain the scripture says, “The spirit which he caused to dwell in us desires jealously”?
Or what do you think the Scripture means when it says that the Holy Spirit, whom God has placed within us, watches over us with tender jealousy?
You’re cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn’t care? The proverb has it that “he’s a fiercely jealous lover.” And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you’ll find. It’s common knowledge that “God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble.”
Do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “He yearns jealously for the spirit that lives in us”?
Or do you imagine that scripture has no meaning · when it says, “God yearns jealously over the spirit that he has placed in us”?
Do you think this passage means nothing? It says, “The Spirit that lives in us wants us to be his own.”
Or do you suppose that the scripture speaks without meaning when it says, “The spirit that he has made to dwell in us tends toward jealousy”?
Or do you think that the Scripture says to no purpose, “He jealously desires the Spirit whom He has made to dwell in us”?
Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”?
Or do you suppose that it is without reason that Scripture says, “He yearns jealously for the Spirit that he sent to live in us”?
Do you think the Scripture means nothing that says, “The Spirit that God made to live in us wants us for himself alone”?
Or do you think the scripture means nothing when it says, “The spirit that God caused to live within us has an envious yearning”?
Don’t you know what Scripture says? God wants the spirit in us to belong only to him. God caused this spirit to live in us. Don’t you think Scripture has a reason for saying this?
Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us?
Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us?
Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
Do you think the Holy Writings mean nothing when they said, “The Holy Spirit Whom God has given to live in us has a strong desire for us to be faithful to Him”?
Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him.
Or do you think that the scripture says in vain, the Spirit that dwells in you resists envy,
Or do you suppose that it is for nothing that the scripture says, ‘God yearns jealously for the spirit that he has made to dwell in us’?
Or do you suppose that it is for nothing that the scripture says, ‘God yearns jealously for the spirit that he has made to dwell in us’?
Or do you suppose that it is for nothing that the scripture says, “God yearns jealously for the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”?
Or do you suppose that the scripture speaks to no purpose? Does the spirit that God caused to dwell in us desire envy?
Or do you suppose that when the Bible says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit he has made to dwell in us,” it doesn’t mean what it says?
Or do you think that in vain the Kitvei Hakodesh attests that Hashem yearns jealously over the Ruach Hakodesh He causes to dwell in us?
Do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit that dwells in us longs enviously”?
Or do you suppose it is in vain that the scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit which he has made to dwell in us”?
Or do you suppose it is in vain that the scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit which he has made to dwell in us”?
Or do you think that in vain the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit which He made to dwell in us”?
Do you think it is empty rhetoric when the Scriptures say, “The spirit that lives in us is addicted to envy and jealousy”?
Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously”?
The holy writings say, `God gave his Spirit to live in us. And that Spirit wants us for himself.' Do you think this means nothing?
Whether ye guess [Whether ween ye], that the scripture saith vainly, The spirit that dwelleth in you, coveteth to envy?
Do ye think that emptily the Writing saith, `To envy earnestly desireth the spirit that did dwell in us,'
