From whence come wars and fightings among you? Do they not come even from your lusts that war in your members?
Whence come wars and whence come fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your pleasures that war in your members?
What leads to [the unending] quarrels and conflicts among you? Do they not come from your [hedonistic] desires that wage war in your [bodily] members [fighting for control over you]?
What leads to strife (discord and feuds) and how do conflicts (quarrels and fightings) originate among you? Do they not arise from your sensual desires that are ever warring in your bodily members?
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don’t they come from your passions that wage war within you?
What is the source of conflict among you? What is the source of your disputes? Don’t they come from your cravings that are at war in your own lives?
What is causing all the quarrels and fights among you? Isn’t it your desires battling inside you?
Why do you fight and argue with each other? Isn't it because you are full of selfish desires that fight to control your body?
Whence [come] wars and whence fightings among you? [Is it] not thence,—from your pleasures, which war in your members?
From-what-source are fights and from-what-source are battles among you? Are they not from-here— from your pleasures waging-war in your body-parts?
From whence are wars and contentions among you? Are they not hence, from your concupiscences, which war in your members?
Do you know where your fights and arguments come from? They come from the selfish desires that make war inside you.
You fight and quarrel among yourselves. Do you know why that happens? It is because of the troubles in your thoughts. You want to do bad things that you think will make you happy.
Where do conflicts and quarrels among you come from? Don’t they come from your cravings for pleasure, which are at war in the parts of your body?
What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you?
What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you?
Do you know where your ·fights [conflicts; wars] and ·arguments [disputes; quarrels; battles] come from? They come from ·the selfish desires [cravings] that war ·within you [L in your members; C probably parts of the body, but could be members of the church].
1 He reckoneth up the mischiefs that proceed of the works of the flesh. 7 He exhorteth to humility,  8 and to purge the heart 3 from pride, 10 backbiting, 14 and the forgetfulness of our own infirmity. From whence are wars and contentions among you? are they not hence, even of your pleasures, that fight in your members?
What causes fights and quarrels among you? Aren’t they caused by the selfish desires that fight to control you?
Where do all the fights and quarrels among you come from? They come from your desires for pleasure, which are constantly fighting within you.

Do you know where your fights and arguments come from? They come from the selfish desires that make war inside you.
Where do those fights and quarrels among you come from? They come from your selfish desires that are at war in your bodies, don’t they?
But about the feuds and struggles that exist among you—where do you suppose they come from? Can’t you see that they arise from conflicting passions within yourselves? You crave for something and don’t get it, you are jealous and envious of what others have got and you don’t possess it yourselves. Consequently in your exasperated frustration you struggle and fight with one another. You don’t get what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And when you do ask he doesn’t give it to you, for you ask in quite the wrong spirit—you only want to satisfy your own desires.
¶ Where do the wars and disputes come from among you? Is it not from here, that is to say, of your lusts which fight in your members?
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members?
From where are conflicts and from where are quarrels among you? Is it not from this, from your pleasures that wage war among your members?
What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Isn’t it because there is a whole army of evil desires within you?
Where do you think all these appalling wars and quarrels come from? Do you think they just happen? Think again. They come about because you want your own way, and fight for it deep inside yourselves. You lust for what you don’t have and are willing to kill to get it. You want what isn’t yours and will risk violence to get your hands on it. You wouldn’t think of just asking God for it, would you? And why not? Because you know you’d be asking for what you have no right to. You’re spoiled children, each wanting your own way.
