Galatians 4:29

But as then, he that was born according to the flesh persecuted him that was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now.
But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, so also it is now.
But as at that time the child [of ordinary birth] born according to the flesh persecuted the son who was born according to [the promise and working of] the Spirit, so it is now also.
Yet [just] as at that time the child [of ordinary birth] born according to the flesh despised and persecuted him [who was born remarkably] according to [the promise and the working of] the [Holy] Spirit, so it is now also.
But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
But just as then the child born as a result of the flesh persecuted the one born as a result of the Spirit, so also now.
But just as it was then, so it is now also: the one who was conceived the normal way harassed the one who was conceived by the Spirit.
But just as then the one born according to limited human capability persecuted the one born through the Spirit’s supernatural power, so it is now.
But the child who was born in the natural way made trouble for the child who was born because of the Spirit. The same thing is happening today.
But as then he that was born according to flesh persecuted him [that was born] according to Spirit, so also [it is] now.
But just as at-that-time the one having been born according to the flesh was persecuting the one born according to the Spirit, so also now.
But as then he, that was born according to the flesh, persecuted him that was after the spirit; so also it is now.
But the other son of Abraham, who was born in the normal way, caused trouble for the one who was born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same today.
Isaac was born because of God's Spirit. The son who was born in the human way gave much trouble to Isaac at that time. You who are believers receive the same kind of trouble now.
But just as back then the one who was born according to the flesh persecuted the one who was born according to the Spirit, so this is also the case now.
But just as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.
But just as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.
[L For just as] The son who was born ·in the normal way [or through human effort/plan; L according to the flesh] treated the other son badly. It is the same today [C a reference to Jewish persecution of Christians].
But as then he that was born after the flesh, persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
Furthermore, at that time the son who was conceived in a natural way persecuted the son conceived in a spiritual way. That’s exactly what’s happening now.
At that time the son who was born in the usual way persecuted the one who was born because of God's Spirit; and it is the same now.
But just as then the child born according to the flesh persecuted the one born according to the Spirit, so also now.
The son who was born in the normal way treated the other son badly. It is the same today.
But just as then the son who was conceived according to the flesh persecuted the son who was conceived according to the Spirit, so it is now.
Now we, my brothers, are like Isaac, for we are children born “by promise”. But just as in those far-off days the natural son persecuted the “spiritual” son, so it is today. Yet what is the scriptural instruction? ‘Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.’
But as then he that was born according to the flesh persecuted him that was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now.
But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh was persecuting him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also.
But just as at that time the child born according to human descent persecuted the child born according to the Spirit, so also now.
And so we who are born of the Holy Spirit are persecuted now by those who want us to keep the Jewish laws, just as Isaac, the child of promise, was persecuted by Ishmael, the slave-wife’s son.
Tell me now, you who have become so enamored with the law: Have you paid close attention to that law? Abraham, remember, had two sons: one by the slave woman and one by the free woman. The son of the slave woman was born by human plotting; the son of the free woman was born by God’s promise. This illustrates the very thing we are dealing with now. The two births represent two ways of being in relationship with God. One is from Mount Sinai in Arabia. It corresponds with what is now going on in Jerusalem—a slave life, producing slaves as offspring. This is the way of Hagar. In contrast to that, there is an invisible Jerusalem, a free Jerusalem, and she is our mother—this is the way of Sarah. Remember what Isaiah wrote: Rejoice, barren woman who bears no children, shout and cry out, woman who has no birth pangs, Because the children of the barren woman now surpass the children of the chosen woman. Isn’t it clear, friends, that you, like Isaac, are children of promise? In the days of Hagar and Sarah, the child who came from faithless plotting (Ishmael) harassed the child who came—empowered by the Spirit—from the faithful promise (Isaac). Isn’t it clear that the harassment you are now experiencing from the Jerusalem heretics follows that old pattern? There is a Scripture that tells us what to do: “Expel the slave mother with her son, for the slave son will not inherit with the free son.” Isn’t that conclusive? We are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
But as it was then, he who was born after the flesh persecuted him who was born after the Spirit, so it is now also.
But just as at that time the one who was born according to the flesh persecuted the one who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.
Furthermore, at that time the son who was conceived in a natural way persecuted the son conceived in a spiritual way. That’s exactly what’s happening now.
But just as then the child of the flesh persecuted the child of the spirit, it is the same now.
But as at that time the son who was born according to the flesh persecuted the one who was born according to the Spirit, so it is even now.
But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also.
But just as in those days the child who was born through the flesh persecuted the child who was born through the Spirit, so is it now also.
The son who was born in the normal way treated the other son badly. It is the same today.
But just as at that time the one born by natural descent persecuted the one born according to the Spirit, so it is now.
At that time, the son born in the usual way tried to hurt the other son. The other son was born by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the same now.
At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.
At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now.
But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now.
At that time the son born as other children are born made it hard for the son born by the Holy Spirit. It is the same way now.
But you are now being persecuted by those who want you to keep the law, just as Ishmael, the child born by human effort, persecuted Isaac, the child born by the power of the Spirit.
But just as then he who was born carnally persecuted him who was born spiritually, so also is it now.
But just as at that time the child who was born according to the flesh persecuted the child who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also.
But just as at that time the child who was born according to the flesh persecuted the child who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also.
But just as at that time the child who was born according to the flesh persecuted the child who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also.
But just as at that time the child who was born according to the flesh persecuted the child who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also.
But things now are like they were then: the one who was born according to the flesh persecuted the one born according to the spirit.
But just as at that time the one born according to the basar was bringing redifah (persecution) on the one born according to the Ruach HaKodesh, so it is now also.
But just as at that time the one who was born after the flesh persecuted the one who was born after the Spirit, so also it is now.
But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now.
But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now.
But just as at that time the one born according to the flesh persecuted the one born according to the Ruach, so it is now.
The slave’s son, born through only what flesh could conceive, resented and persecuted the one born into the freedom of the Spirit. The slave’s son picked at Isaac, just as you are being picked at now.
But as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.
Abraham's child who was born as any child is born, troubled the other child who was born by the Spirit. It is that way today.
but now as this that was born after the flesh pursued him that was after the Spirit, so now.
but as then he who was born according to the flesh did persecute him according to the spirit, so also now;
