For if we be beside ourselves, it is for God; if we be soberminded, it is for your cause.
For whether we are beside ourselves, it is unto God; or whether we are of sober mind, it is unto you.
If we are out of our mind [just unstable fanatics as some critics say], it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for your benefit.
For if we are beside ourselves [mad, as some say], it is for God and concerns Him; if we are in our right mind, it is for your benefit,
For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
For if we are out of our mind, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
If we are crazy, it’s for God’s sake. If we are rational, it’s for your sake.
If we are insane, it is for God’s sake; and if we are sane, it is for your sake.
If we seem out of our minds, it is between God and us. But if we are in our right minds, it is for your good.
For whether we are beside ourselves, [it is] to God; or are sober, [it is] for you.
For if we lost-our-senses, it is for God! If we are sound-minded, it is for you!
For whether we be transported in mind, it is to God; or whether we be sober, it is for you.
If we are crazy, it is for God. If we have our right mind, it is for you.
To some people, we may seem to be crazy. That is because we want to serve God. But if we seem to be wise, that is to help you.
Actually, if we were out of our minds, it was for God. If we are in our right minds, it is for you.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
If we are out of our minds, it is for God. If we have our right minds, it is for you.
For whether we be out of our wit, we are it to God: or whether we be in our right mind, we are it unto you.
So if we were crazy, it was for God. If we are sane, it is for you.
Are we really insane? It is for God's sake. Or are we sane? Then it is for your sake.
For if we are out of our mind, it is for God; if we have a sound mind, it is for you.
If we are out of our minds, it is for God. If we have our right mind, then it is for you.
So if we were crazy, it was for God; if we are sane, it is for you.
All our persuading of men, then, is with this solemn fear of God in our minds. What we are is utterly plain to God—and I hope to your consciences as well. (No, we are not recommending ourselves to you again, but we can give you grounds for legitimate pride in us—if that is what you need to meet those who are so proud of the outward rather than the inward qualification). If we have been “mad” it was for God’s glory; if we are perfectly sane it is for your benefit. At any rate there has been no selfish motive. The very spring of our actions is the love of Christ. We look at it like this: if one died for all men then, in a sense, they all died, and his purpose in dying for them is that their lives should now be no longer lived for themselves but for him who died and rose again for them.
For whether we are fools, it is unto God; or whether we are sane, it is for your cause.
For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
For if we are out of our mind, it is for God, or if we are of right mind, it is for you.
For if we are out of our senses, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.
Are we insane to say such things about ourselves? If so, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. Whatever we do, it is certainly not for our own profit but because Christ’s love controls us now. Since we believe that Christ died for all of us, we should also believe that we have died to the old life we used to live.
That keeps us vigilant, you can be sure. It’s no light thing to know that we’ll all one day stand in that place of Judgment. That’s why we work urgently with everyone we meet to get them ready to face God. God alone knows how well we do this, but I hope you realize how much and deeply we care. We’re not saying this to make ourselves look good to you. We just thought it would make you feel good, proud even, that we’re on your side and not just nice to your face as so many people are. If I acted crazy, I did it for God; if I acted overly serious, I did it for you. Christ’s love has moved me to such extremes. His love has the first and last word in everything we do. Our firm decision is to work from this focused center: One man died for everyone. That puts everyone in the same boat. He included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.
If we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
For if we are out of our minds, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.
So if we were crazy, it was for God. If we are sane, it is for you.
For if we are out of our minds, it is for God; if we are rational, it is for you.
For if we have lost our minds, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.
If, indeed, we are out of our minds, it is for God; if we are rational, it is for your sake.
If we are out of our minds, it is for God. If we have our right minds, it is for you.
For if we are out of our minds, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.
Are we “out of our minds,” as some people say? If so, it is because we want to serve God. Does what we say make sense? If so, it is because we want to serve you.
If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
If we are ‘out of our mind,’ as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you.
Are we crazy to talk like this? It is all because of what God has done. If we are using our minds well, it is for you.
If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit.
For if we are too fervent, it is for God that we are too fervent. If we are restrained, it is for your sakes that we show restraint.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
If we are beside ourselves, you see, it’s for God; and if we are in our right mind, it’s for you.
For if we seem meshuggah, it is for Hashem; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
For if we are out of our wits, we are so to God: or if we are in our right minds, we are so to you.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
For if we are out of our minds, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
If we seem out of control or act like fanatics, it is for God. But if we act in a coherent and reasonable way, it is for you.
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God. Or if we are of sober mind, it is for you.
If we are crazy, it is for God's sake. If we are right in our minds, it is for your sakes.
For either we by mind pass to God, either we be sober to you. [Soothly whether we by mind, or reason, pass it is to God, whether we be sober it is to you?]
for whether we were beside ourselves, [it was] to God; whether we be of sound mind -- [it is] to you,
