2 Corinthians 2:9
Print
For to this end also did I write, that I might have proof from you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye are obedient in all things.
For this was my purpose in writing, to see if you would stand the test, whether you are obedient and committed to following my instruction in all things.
For this was my purpose in writing you, to test your attitude and see if you would stand the test, whether you are obedient and altogether agreeable [to following my orders] in everything.
For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
I wrote for this purpose: to test your character to see if you are obedient in everything.
This is another reason why I wrote you. I wanted to test you and see if you are obedient in everything.
The reason I wrote you was to see if you would pass the test, to see if you would fully obey me.
I also wrote because I wanted to test you and find out if you would follow my instructions.
For to this end also I have written, that I might know, by putting you to the test, if as to everything ye are obedient.
For I also wrote for this purpose: that I might know your approvedness, whether you are obedient in all things.
For to this end also did I write, that I may know the experiment of you, whether you be obedient in all things.
This is why I wrote to you. I wanted to test you and see if you obey in everything.
When I wrote that letter to you, I wanted to know what you would do. I wanted to see if you would do everything that I told you.
In fact, this was also the purpose of my writing: I wanted to know the result of your being tested, that is, if you are obedient in all things.
For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything.
For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything.
I wrote you to test you and to see if you obey in everything [C Paul’s “severe” letter (vv. 1, 3) evidently called the church to submit again to his authority].
For this cause also did I write: that I might know the proof of you, whether ye would be obedient in all things.
I had also written to you to test you. I wanted to see if you would be obedient in every way.
I wrote you that letter because I wanted to find out how well you had stood the test and whether you are always ready to obey my instructions.
I wrote for this purpose: to test your character to see if you are obedient in everything.
This is why I wrote to you. I wanted to test you and see if you obey in everything.
I had also written to you to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in every way.
There was a reason for my stern words; this is my advice now. If the behaviour of a certain person has caused distress, it does not mean so much that he has injured me, but that to some extent (I do not wish to exaggerate), he has injured all of you. But now I think that the punishment you have inflicted on him has been sufficient. Now is the time to offer him forgiveness and comfort, for it is possible for a man in his position to be completely overwhelmed by remorse. I ask you to show him plainly now that you love him. My previous letter was something of a test—I wanted to make sure that you would follow my orders implicitly. If you will forgive a certain person, rest assured that I forgive him too. Insofar as I had anything personally to forgive, I do forgive him, as before Christ. We don’t want Satan to win any victory here, and well we know his methods!
For to this end also I wrote, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye are obedient in all things.
For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
For to this end also I wrote, so that I might know your proven character, whether you are obedient in all things.
Because for this reason also I wrote, in order that I could know your proven character, whether you are obedient in everything.
I wrote to you as I did so that I could find out how far you would go in obeying me.
The focus of my letter wasn’t on punishing the offender but on getting you to take responsibility for the health of the church. So if you forgive him, I forgive him. Don’t think I’m carrying around a list of personal grudges. The fact is that I’m joining in with your forgiveness, as Christ is with us, guiding us. After all, we don’t want to unwittingly give Satan an opening for yet more mischief—we’re not oblivious to his sly ways!
For to this end I also wrote, so that I might know that you are proving yourselves by whether you are being obedient in all things.
For this reason also I wrote you: to discover whether you could · stand the test—if in everything you are obedient.
I had also written to you to test you. I wanted to see if you would be obedient in every way.
For this is why I wrote, to know your proven character, whether you were obedient in everything.
For to this end I also wrote, so that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things.
For to this end also I wrote, so that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things.
I wrote to you to test your obedience in all matters.
I wrote you to test you and to see if you obey in everything.
For this reason also I wrote you: to test you to see if you are obedient in everything.
I wrote to you for another special reason. I wanted to see if you could stand the test. I wanted to see if you could obey everything asked of you.
Another reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.
Another reason I wrote to you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.
For to this end I also wrote, that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things.
This is why I wrote to you. I wanted to test you to see if you were willing to obey in all things.
I wrote to you as I did to test you and see if you would fully comply with my instructions.
For this reason also I wrote: to know the proof of you, whether you would be obedient in all things.
I wrote for this reason: to test you and to know whether you are obedient in everything.
I wrote for this reason: to test you and to know whether you are obedient in everything.
I wrote for this reason: to test you and to know whether you are obedient in everything.
I wrote for this reason: to test you and to know whether you are obedient in everything.
The reason I wrote to you, you see, was in order to know whether you would pass the test and be obedient in everything.
For I wrote the iggeret to this end, that I may have da’as that you are tested and proven, that in all things you have mishma’at (obedience). [2C 7:15; 10:6]
For this also I wrote: that I might know the proof of you, whether you would be obedient in all things.
For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything.
For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything.
For to this end I also wrote, that I might know your character, whether you are obedient in all things.
I wrote these things to you with a clear purpose in mind: to test whether you are willing to live and abide by all my counsel.
For to this end I also wrote, that I might know the proof of you, whether you are obedient in all things.
Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. And if I have had anything to forgive, I have already forgiven it for your sakes, just as if we were standing before Christ.
For why therefore [and] I wrote this, that I know your proof, whether in all things ye be obedient.
for, for this also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether in regard to all things ye are obedient.
