2 Corinthians 1:5
Print
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound unto us, even so our comfort also aboundeth through Christ.
For just as Christ’s sufferings are ours in abundance [as they overflow to His followers], so also our comfort [our reassurance, our encouragement, our consolation] is abundant through Christ [it is truly more than enough to endure what we must].
For just as Christ’s [own] sufferings fall to our lot [as they overflow upon His disciples, and we share and experience them] abundantly, so through Christ comfort (consolation and encouragement) is also [shared and experienced] abundantly by us.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
That is because we receive so much comfort through Christ in the same way that we share so many of Christ’s sufferings.
For just as the Messiah’s sufferings overflow into us, so through the Messiah our encouragement also overflows.
We share in the terrible sufferings of Christ, but also in the wonderful comfort he gives.
Because, even as the sufferings of the Christ abound towards us, so through the Christ does our encouragement also abound.
Because just as the sufferings of Christ are abounding in us, so our comfort also is abounding through Christ.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us: so also by Christ doth our comfort abound.
We share in the many sufferings of Christ. In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ.
Christ himself received much pain, and God comforted him. As Christ's servants, we also receive the same kind of pain. But, God also comforts us very much, because we belong to Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so through Christ our comfort also overflows.
For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
[L For just as] ·We share in the many sufferings of Christ [L Christ’s sufferings abound in us]. In the same way, ·much comfort comes to us [L our comfort abounds] through Christ.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation aboundeth through Christ.
Because Christ suffered so much for us, we can receive so much comfort from him.
Just as we have a share in Christ's many sufferings, so also through Christ we share in God's great help.
For as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so through Christ our comfort also overflows.
We share in the many sufferings of Christ. In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ.
For as the Messiah’s sufferings overflow into us, so also our comfort overflows through the Messiah.
Thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, that he is our Father and the source of all mercy and comfort. For he gives us comfort in our trials so that we in turn may be able to give the same sort of strong sympathy to others in theirs. Indeed, experience shows that the more we share Christ’s suffering the more we are able to give of his encouragement. This means that if we experience trouble we can pass on to you comfort and spiritual help; for if we ourselves have been comforted we know how to encourage you to endure patiently the same sort of troubles that we have ourselves endured. We are quite confident that if you have to suffer troubles as we have done, then, like us, you will find the comfort and encouragement of God.
For in the same manner that the sufferings of the Christ abound in us, so also our consolation abounds by Christ.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, thus through Christ our comfort overflows also.
You can be sure that the more we undergo sufferings for Christ, the more he will shower us with his comfort and encouragement.
All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.
As the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also does the encouragement we receive through · Christ overflow.
Because Christ suffered so much for us, we can receive so much comfort from him.
For as Christ’s sufferings overflow to us, so through Christ does our encouragement also overflow.
For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.
For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so too, through Christ, do we receive our consolation.
We share in the many sufferings of Christ. In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow toward us, so also our comfort through Christ overflows to you.
We share very much in the sufferings of Christ. So we also share very much in his comfort.
For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
As we have suffered much for Christ and have shared in His pain, we also share His great comfort.
For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.
For as the afflictions of Christ are plentiful in us, so also is our consolation plentiful by Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ.
For just as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant through Christ.
Just as we have an overflowing share of the Messiah’s sufferings, you see, so we have an overflowing share in comfort through the Messiah.
This is so because as the Chevlei Moshiach (birth pangs of Moshiach) abound to us, so through Moshiach abounds also our nechamah (1:3; YESHAYAH 51:12). [TEHILLIM 34:19; 94:19]
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation abounds through Christ.
For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
For just as the sufferings of Messiah overflow into us, so also through Messiah our encouragement overflows.
For even as His suffering continues to flood over us, through the Anointed we experience the wealth of His comfort just the same.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.
When we have trouble, it is for your sake so that you will be helped and saved. When we are comforted, this helps you. Then you will stand strong when you have the same troubles we have.
For as the passions of Christ be plenteous in us, so also by Christ our comfort is plenteous.
because, as the sufferings of the Christ do abound to us, so through the Christ doth abound also our comfort;
