1 Corinthians 9:8
Say I these things as a man, or saith not the law the same also?
Do I speak these things after the manner of men? or saith not the law also the same?
Do I say these things only from a man’s perspective? Does the Law not endorse the same principles?
Do I say this only on human authority and as a man reasons? Does not the Law endorse the same principle?
Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
I’m not saying these things just based on common sense, am I? Doesn’t the Law itself say these things?
What I am saying is not based merely on human authority, because the Torah says the same thing —
I am not saying this on my own authority. The Law of Moses tells us not to muzzle an ox when it is grinding grain. But was God concerned only about an ox?
Do I speak these things as a man, or does not the law also say these things?
I am not speaking these things according to [mere] human thinking, am I ? Or does not the Law also say these things?
Speak I these things according to man? Or doth not the law also say these things?
These aren’t just my own thoughts. God’s law says the same thing.
Do I say these things on human authority? Does not the Law say the same?
Do I say these things on human authority? Does not the Law say the same?
I do not say this ·by human authority [from human experience; L according to man]; God’s law also says the same thing.
Say I these things according to man? saith not the Law the same also?
Am I merely stating some human rule? Don’t Moses’ Teachings say the same thing?
I don't have to limit myself to these everyday examples, because the Law says the same thing.
Am I saying this from a human perspective? Doesn’t the law also say the same thing?
This is not only what men think. God’s law says the same thing.
I am not saying this on human authority, am I? The Law says the same thing, doesn’t it?
Just think for a moment. Does any soldier ever go to war at his own expense? Does any man plant a vineyard and have no share in its fruits? Does the shepherd who tends the flock never taste the milk? This is, I know, an argument from everyday life, but it is a principle endorsed by the Law. For is it not written in the Law of Moses: ‘You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain’.
Do I say this only according to men? or does not the law say the same also?
Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
I am not saying these things according to a human perspective. Or does the law not also say these things?
And I’m not merely quoting the opinions of men as to what is right. I’m telling you what God’s law says.
I’m not just sounding off because I’m irritated. This is all written in the scriptural law. Moses wrote, “Don’t muzzle an ox to keep it from eating the grain when it’s threshing.” Do you think Moses’ primary concern was the care of farm animals? Don’t you think his concern extends to us? Of course. Farmers plow and thresh expecting something when the crop comes in. So if we have planted spiritual seed among you, is it out of line to expect a meal or two from you? Others demand plenty from you in these ways. Don’t we who have never demanded deserve even more?
Do I say these things as a man? Or does the law not say the same thing also?
Am I saying these things from a merely human point of view? Or · does not the Law say the same?
Am I merely stating some human rule? Don’t Moses’ Teachings say the same thing?
Am I saying this on human authority, or does not the law also speak of these things?
I am not speaking these things according to human judgment, am I? Or does not the Law also say these things?
I do not say this by human authority; God’s law also says the same thing.
Am I saying these things only on the basis of common sense, or does the law not say this as well?
Do I say this only on human authority? The Law says the same thing.
Do I say this merely on human authority? Doesn’t the Law say the same thing?
Do I say this merely on human authority? Doesn’t the Law say the same thing?
Do I say these things as a mere man? Or does not the law say the same also?
These things are not just what men think are right to do. God’s Law speaks about this.
Am I expressing merely a human opinion, or does the law say the same thing?
Do I say this on human authority? Does not the law also say the same?
Do I say this on human authority? Does not the law also say the same?
Do I say this on human authority? Does not the law also say the same?
Do I say this on human authority? Does not the law also say the same?
I’m not just using human illustrations to make the point; the law says the same thing, doesn’t it?
Do I say this according to the dvar haBnei Adam? Or does not the Torah say these things?
Do I say this on human authority? Does not the law say the same?
Do I say this on human authority? Does not the law say the same?
I don’t say these things merely as a man, do I? Doesn’t Torah also say these things?
These ideas aren’t based on merely human notions; the law says these same things.
Do I speak these things according to the ways of men? Or doesn’t the law also say the same thing?
Am I saying only what men say? Does not God's law also say the same?
Whether after man I say these things? whether also the law saith not these things?
According to man do I speak these things? or doth not also the law say these things?
