Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us by God.
But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the [Holy] Spirit who is from God, so that we may know and understand the [wonderful] things freely given to us by God.
Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God.
We haven’t received the world’s spirit but God’s Spirit so that we can know the things given to us by God.
Now we have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit of God, so that we might understand the things God has so freely given us.
But God has given us his Spirit. This is why we don't think the same way that the people of this world think. This is also why we can recognize the blessings God has given us.
But *we* have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which [is] of God, that we may know the things which have been freely given to us of God:
And we did not receive the spirit of the world, but the Spirit from God, in order that we might know the things having been freely-given to us by God—
Now we have received not the spirit of this world, but the Spirit that is of God; that we may know the things that are given us from God.
We received the Spirit that is from God, not the spirit of the world. We received God’s Spirit so that we can know all that God has given us.
We have received God's own Spirit, not a spirit that belongs to this world. As a result, we can understand all the good things that God has given to us.
What we received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we might know the blessings freely given to us by God.
Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
Now we did not receive the spirit of the world, but we received the Spirit that is from God so that we can know all that God has [freely] given us.
Now we have receiveth not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit, which is of God, that we might know the things that are given to us of God.
Now, we didn’t receive the spirit that belongs to the world. Instead, we received the Spirit who comes from God so that we could know the things which God has freely given us.
We have not received this world's spirit; instead, we have received the Spirit sent by God, so that we may know all that God has given us.
Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God.
We did not receive the spirit of the world, but we received the Spirit that is from God. We received this Spirit so that we can know all that God has given us.
Now, we have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we can understand the things that were freely given to us by God.
But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him’. But God has, through the Spirit, let us share his secret. For nothing is hidden from the Spirit, not even the deep wisdom of God. For who could really understand a man’s inmost thoughts except the spirit of the man himself? How much less could anyone understand the thoughts of God except the very Spirit of God? And the marvellous thing is this, that we now receive not the spirit of the world but the Spirit of God himself, so that we can actually understand something of God’s generosity towards us.
Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that God has given us.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the depths graciously given to us by God,
Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, in order that we may know the things freely given to us by God,
And God has actually given us his Spirit (not the world’s spirit) to tell us about the wonderful free gifts of grace and blessing that God has given us.
We, of course, have plenty of wisdom to pass on to you once you get your feet on firm spiritual ground, but it’s not popular wisdom, the fashionable wisdom of high-priced experts that will be out-of-date in a year or so. God’s wisdom is something mysterious that goes deep into the interior of his purposes. You don’t find it lying around on the surface. It’s not the latest message, but more like the oldest—what God determined as the way to bring out his best in us, long before we ever arrived on the scene. The experts of our day haven’t a clue about what this eternal plan is. If they had, they wouldn’t have killed the Master of the God-designed life on a cross. That’s why we have this Scripture text: No one’s ever seen or heard anything like this, Never so much as imagined anything quite like it— What God has arranged for those who love him. But you’ve seen and heard it because God by his Spirit has brought it all out into the open before you. The Spirit, not content to flit around on the surface, dives into the depths of God, and brings out what God planned all along. Who ever knows what you’re thinking and planning except you yourself? The same with God—except that he not only knows what he’s thinking, but he lets us in on it. God offers a full report on the gifts of life and salvation that he is giving us. We don’t have to rely on the world’s guesses and opinions. We didn’t learn this by reading books or going to school; we learned it from God, who taught us person-to-person through Jesus, and we’re passing it on to you in the same firsthand, personal way.
