and base things of the world and things which are despised hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things which are,
and the base things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, yea and the things that are not, that he might bring to nought the things that are:
God has selected [for His purpose] the insignificant (base) things of the world, and the things that are despised and treated with contempt, [even] the things that are nothing, so that He might reduce to nothing the things that are,
And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are,
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world—what is viewed as nothing—to bring to nothing what is viewed as something,
And God chose what the world considers low-class and low-life—what is considered to be nothing—to reduce what is considered to be something to nothing.
and God chose what the world looks down on as common or regards as nothing in order to bring to nothing what the world considers important;
What the world thinks is worthless, useless, and nothing at all is what God has used to destroy what the world considers important.
and the ignoble things of the world, and the despised, has God chosen, [and] things that are not, that he may annul the things that are;
And God chose the low-born things of the world, and the things having been treated-with-contempt— the things not being, in order that He might bring-to-nothing the things being,
And the base things of the world, and the things that are contemptible, hath God chosen, and things that are not, that he might bring to nought things that are:
And God chose what the world thinks is not important—what the world hates and thinks is nothing. He chose these to destroy what the world thinks is important.
God chose to use things that people think are useless. People who belong to this world do not like those things. They think that they have no value. God did this so that the things that seem important would become unimportant.
and God chose the lowly things of the world and the despised things, and the things that are not, to do away with the things that are,
God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
He chose what the world thinks is ·unimportant [insignificant; lowly] and what the world ·looks down on [despises] and thinks is nothing in order to destroy what the world thinks is ·important [something special].
And vile things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are.
God chose what the world considers ordinary and what it despises—what it considers to be nothing—in order to destroy what it considers to be something.
He chose what the world looks down on and despises and thinks is nothing, in order to destroy what the world thinks is important.
God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world—what is viewed as nothing—to bring to nothing what is viewed as something,
And he chose what the world thinks is not important. He chose what the world hates and thinks is nothing. He chose these to destroy what the world thinks is important.
And God chose what is insignificant in the world, what is despised, what is nothing, in order to destroy what is something,
For look at your own calling as Christians, my brothers. You don’t see among you many of the wise (according to this world’s judgment) nor many of the ruling class, nor many from the noblest families. But God has chosen what the world calls foolish to shame the wise; he has chosen what the world calls weak to shame the strong. He has chosen things of little strength and small repute, yes and even things which have no real existence to explode the pretensions of the things that are—that no man may boast in the presence of God. Yet from this same God you have received your standing in Jesus Christ, and he has become for us the true wisdom, a matter, in practice, of being made righteous and holy, in fact, of being redeemed. And this makes us see the truth of scripture: ‘He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.
and that which is vile of the world and that which is despised God has chosen, and things which are not, to bring to nought the things that are,
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may abolish the things that are,
and the insignificant of the world, and the despised, God chose, the things that are not, in order that he might abolish the things that are,
He has chosen a plan despised by the world, counted as nothing at all, and used it to bring down to nothing those the world considers great,
Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don’t see many of “the brightest and the best” among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these “nobodies” to expose the hollow pretensions of the “somebodies”? That makes it quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before God. Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have the saying, “If you’re going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God.”
And God has chosen the base things of the world and things which are despised. Yes, and He chose things which did not exist to bring to nothing things that do,
· God chose the things that the world considers insignificant and · contemptible, · what is regarded as nothing, to render useless the things that are,
God chose what the world considers ordinary and what it despises—what it considers to be nothing—in order to destroy what it considers to be something.
and God chose the lowly and despised of the world, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who are something,
and the insignificant things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are,
and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are,
God chose those in the world who were lowly and despised, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who were regarded as worthy,
He chose what the world thinks is unimportant and what the world looks down on and thinks is nothing in order to destroy what the world thinks is important.
God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something,
God chose the things of this world that are common and looked down on. God chose things considered unimportant to do away with things considered important.
God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,
God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things – and the things that are not – to nullify the things that are,
and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,
God has chosen what is weak and foolish of the world, what is hated and not known, to destroy the things the world trusts in.
God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.
And low things of the world, and things which are despised, God has chosen, yea and things of no reputation, to bring to nothing things of reputation,
God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are,
God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are,
God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are,
God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to abolish things that are,
God chose the insignificant and despised things of the world—yes, even things that don’t exist!—to abolish the power of the things that do exist,
And those of the Olam Hazeh without mishpochah atzilah (noble birth) and those which are hanivzim (the despised, Isa 53:3) Hashem chose, choosing the things that are not, in order to bring to naught the things that are.
And vile things of the world, and things which are despised, God has chosen, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are.
God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
and God chose the lowly and despised things of the world, the things that are as nothing, so He might bring to nothing the things that are—
God selected the common and the castoff, whatever lacks status, so He could invalidate the claims of those who think those things are significant.
God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist,
And God chose the small things, things that people despise. Yes, he chose even the things which seem to be nothing. He did this to destroy the big things.
and God chose the unnoble things and despisable things of the world, and those things that be not, to destroy those things that be;
and the base things of the world, and the things despised did God choose, and the things that are not, that the things that are He may make useless --
