Psalm 115

To Yahweh’s Name Give Glory

115 (A)Not to us, O Yahweh, not to us,
But (B)to Your name give glory
Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your [a]truth.
(C)Why should the nations say,
(D)Where, now, is their God?”
But our (E)God is in the heavens;
He (F)does whatever He pleases.
Their (G)idols are silver and gold,
The (H)work of man’s hands.
They have mouths, but they (I)do not speak;
They have eyes, but they do not see;
They have ears, but they do not hear;
They have noses, but they do not smell;
As for their hands, they do not feel;
As for their feet, they do not walk;
They do not make a sound with their throat.
(J)Those who make them [b]will become like them,
Everyone who trusts in them.

O (K)Israel, (L)trust in Yahweh;
He is their (M)help and their shield.
10 O house of (N)Aaron, trust in Yahweh;
He is their help and their shield.
11 You who [c](O)fear Yahweh, trust in Yahweh;
He is their help and their shield.
12 Yahweh (P)remembered us; He will bless!
He will bless the house of Israel.
He will bless the house of Aaron.
13 He will (Q)bless those who [d]fear Yahweh,
(R)The small together with the great.
14 May Yahweh (S)give you increase,
You and your children.
15 May you be blessed of Yahweh,
(T)Who made heaven and earth.

16 The heavens are (U)the heavens of Yahweh,
But (V)the earth He has given to the sons of men.
17 It is not the (W)dead that praise Yah,
And it is none of those who go down to (X)silence;
18 But as for us, we will (Y)bless Yah
From now until forever.
[e]Praise Yah!

Judges 5:1-11

The Song of Deborah and Barak

(A)Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying,

(B)When [a]the leaders led in Israel,
When (C)the people volunteered,
Bless Yahweh!
Hear, O kings; give ear, O rulers!
(D)As for me, to Yahweh, I will sing;
I will sing praise to Yahweh, the God of Israel.
(E)O Yahweh, when You went out from Seir,
When You marched from the field of Edom,
(F)The earth quaked, the heavens also dripped,
Even the clouds dripped water.
(G)The mountains [b]flowed at the presence of Yahweh,
(H)This Sinai, at the presence of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

“In the days of (I)Shamgar the son of Anath,
In the days of (J)Jael, the paths had ceased,
So travelers [c]went by [d]roundabout paths.
The peasantry ceased; they ceased in Israel,
Until I, Deborah, arose,
Until I arose, a mother in Israel.
[e](K)God chose new leaders;
Then war was in the gates.
Not a shield or a spear was seen
Among forty thousand in Israel.
My heart goes out to (L)the commanders of Israel,
The volunteers among the people;
Bless Yahweh!
10 (M)You who ride on [f]white donkeys,
You who sit on rich carpets,
And you who travel on the road—muse aloud!
11 At the sound of those who divide flocks among (N)the watering places,
There they shall [g]commemorate (O)the righteous deeds of Yahweh,
The righteous deeds for His [h]peasantry in Israel.
Then the people of Yahweh went down (P)to the gates.

1 Corinthians 14:26-40

Orderly Worship

26 (A)What is the outcome then, (B)brothers? When you assemble, (C)each one has a (D)psalm, has a (E)teaching, has a (F)revelation, has a (G)tongue, has a [a](H)translation. Let (I)all things be done for edification. 27 If anyone speaks in a (J)tongue, it should be by two or at the most three, and each in turn, and one must [b](K)translate; 28 but if there is no [c]translator, he must keep silent in the church, and let him speak to himself and to God. 29 And let two or three (L)prophets speak, and let the others (M)pass judgment. 30 But if a revelation is made to another who is seated, the first one must keep silent. 31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted. 32 And the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets; 33 for God is not a God of (N)confusion but of [d]peace, as in (O)all the churches of the (P)saints.

34 The women are to (Q)keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but (R)are to subject themselves, just as (S)the Law also says. 35 But if they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in church. 36 [e]Was it from you that the word of God first went forth? Or has it arrived to you only?

37 (T)If anyone thinks he is a prophet or (U)spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you (V)are the Lord’s commandment. 38 But if anyone remains ignorant about this, he [f]is ignored by God.

39 Therefore, my brothers, (W)earnestly desire to (X)prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues. 40 But (Y)all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.
