Revised Common Lectionary (Semicontinuous)
Remember His Wondrous Deeds
105 Oh (A)give thanks to Yahweh, (B)call upon His name;
(C)Make known His acts among the peoples.
2 Sing to Him, (D)sing praises to Him;
(E)Muse on all His wondrous deeds.
3 Boast in His holy name;
Let the (F)heart of those who seek Yahweh be glad.
4 Inquire of Yahweh and (G)His strength;
(H)Seek His face continually.
5 Remember His (I)wondrous deeds which He has done,
His miracles and the (J)judgments [a]uttered by His mouth,
6 O seed of (K)Abraham, His servant,
O sons of (L)Jacob, His (M)chosen ones!
7 He is Yahweh our God;
His (N)judgments are in all the earth.
8 He has (O)remembered His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded for a (P)thousand generations,
9 (Q)Which He cut with Abraham,
And His (R)oath to Isaac.
10 Then He (S)confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 Saying, “(T)To you I will give the land of Canaan
As the [b](U)portion of your inheritance,”
37 Then He brought them out with (A)silver and gold,
And there was none among His tribes who stumbled.
38 Egypt was (B)glad when they went out,
For the (C)dread of them had fallen upon them.
39 He spread a (D)cloud for a [a]covering,
And (E)fire to give light by night.
40 [b]They (F)asked, and He brought (G)quail,
And He satisfied them with the [c](H)bread of heaven.
41 He opened the [d]rock and (I)water flowed out;
[e]It ran in the dry places like a river.
42 For He (J)remembered His holy word
With Abraham His servant;
43 And He brought His people out with joy,
His chosen ones with a shout of (K)joy.
44 He (L)gave them also the lands of the [f]nations,
That they (M)might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor,
45 So that they might (N)keep His statutes
And observe His laws,
[g]Praise Yah!
12 “For thus says Yahweh,
‘Your injury is incurable,
And your (A)wound is desperately sick.
13 There is no one to plead your cause;
No healing for your sore,
(B)No recovery for you.
14 All your (C)lovers have forgotten you;
They do not seek you;
For I have [a](D)wounded you with the wound of an enemy,
With the (E)punishment of a (F)cruel one,
Because your (G)iniquity is numerous
And your (H)sins are mighty.
15 Why do you cry out over your injury?
Your pain is incurable.
Because your iniquity is numerous
And your sins are mighty,
I have done these things to you.
16 Therefore all who (I)devour you will be devoured;
And all your adversaries, every one of them, (J)will go into captivity;
And those who take you as spoil will be spoil,
And all who plunder you I will give as plunder.
17 For I will [b]restore you to [c](K)health,
And I will heal you of your wounds,’ declares Yahweh,
‘Because they have called you a (L)banished one, saying:
“It is Zion; no one is seeking her.”’
18 “Thus says Yahweh,
‘Behold, I will [d](M)return the [e]fortunes of the tents of Jacob
And (N)have compassion on his dwelling places;
And the (O)city will be rebuilt on its ruin,
And the (P)palace will sit on its just place.
19 From them will come forth (Q)thanksgiving
And the voice of those who [f](R)celebrate;
And I will (S)multiply them, and they will not decrease;
I will also (T)honor them, and they will not be insignificant.
20 [g]Their children also will be as formerly,
And [h]their congregation shall be (U)established before Me;
And I will punish all [i]their oppressors.
21 And [j]their (V)mighty one shall be one of them,
And [k]their ruler shall come forth from [l]their midst;
And I will (W)bring Him near, and He shall approach Me;
For who would dare to give his heart as security to (X)approach Me?’ declares Yahweh.
22 ‘You shall be (Y)My people,
And I will be your God.’”
36 While you have the Light, (A)believe in the Light, so that you may become (B)sons of Light.”
These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and [a](C)hid Himself from them. 37 But though He had done so many [b]signs before them, they still were not believing in Him, 38 so that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “[c](D)Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the [d]Lord been revealed?” 39 For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, 40 “(E)He has blinded their eyes and He (F)hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and return and I heal them.” 41 These things Isaiah said because (G)he saw His glory, and (H)he spoke about Him. 42 Nevertheless (I)many even of (J)the rulers believed in Him, but (K)because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, [e]for fear that they would be (L)put out of the synagogue; 43 (M)for they loved the glory of men rather than the glory of God.
