⁷ Then Yahweh ^(A)appeared to Abram and said, “^(B)To your seed I will give this land.” So he built ^(C)an altar there to Yahweh who had appeared to him.

^8 (A)And I will give to you and to your seed after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and ^(B)I will be their God.”

¹⁶ and said, “^(A)By Myself I have sworn, declares Yahweh, because you have done this thing and have not spared your son, your only one, ¹⁷ indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly ^(B)multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as ^(C)the sand which is on the seashore; and ^(D)your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies. ^18 (E)In your ^[a]seed all the nations of the earth shall ^[b]be blessed, because you have ^(F)listened to My voice.”

¹⁷ And what I am saying is this: the Law, which came ^(A)430 years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to abolish the promise.
