God Himself Is Judge
A Psalm of [a]Asaph.
50 (A)The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, has spoken,
And called the earth (B)from the rising of the sun to its setting.
2 Out of Zion, (C)the perfection of beauty,
God (D)has shone forth.
3 May our God (E)come and not be silent;
(F)Fire devours before Him,
And (G)a storm whirls around Him.
4 He (H)calls the heavens above,
And the earth, to render justice to His people:
5 “Gather My (I)holy ones to Me,
Those who have cut a (J)covenant with Me by (K)sacrifice.”
6 And the (L)heavens declare His righteousness,
For (M)God Himself is judge. [b]Selah.
26 Now (A)Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, Solomon’s servant, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow, (B)also [a]raised his hand against the king. 27 Now this was the reason why he [b]raised his hand against the king: (C)Solomon built the [c]Millo, and closed up the breach of the city of his father David. 28 Now the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor. And (D)Solomon saw that the young man was [d]industrious and appointed him over all the load-bearers of the house of Joseph. 29 Now it happened at that time, that Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, and (E)that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him on the road. Now [e]he had covered himself with a new cloak; and both of them were alone in the field. 30 Then (F)Ahijah took hold of the new cloak which was on him and tore it into twelve pieces. 31 And he said to Jeroboam, “Take for yourself ten pieces; for thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘Behold, (G)I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and give you ten tribes, 32 (H)but he will have one tribe, for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, (I)the city which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, 33 because they have forsaken Me, and (J)have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, (K)Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the sons of Ammon; and they have not walked in My ways to do what is right in My sight and to keep My statutes and My judgments, as his father David did. 34 Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him [f]ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of My servant David whom I chose, who kept My commandments and My statutes; 35 but (L)I will take the kingdom from his son’s hand and give it to you—the ten tribes. 36 But (M)to his son I will give one tribe, (N)that My servant David may have a lamp always before Me in Jerusalem, (O)the city where I have chosen for Myself to put My name. 37 And I will take you, and you shall reign over whatever your soul desires, and you shall be king over Israel. 38 Then it will be, that if you listen to all that I command you and walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight to keep My statutes and My commandments, as My servant David did, then (P)I will be with you and (Q)build you an enduring house as I built for David, and I will give Israel to you. 39 Thus I will afflict the seed of David for this, but not always.’” 40 Solomon sought therefore to put Jeroboam to death; but Jeroboam arose and fled to Egypt to (R)Shishak king of Egypt, and he was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
12 Now when I came to (A)Troas for the (B)gospel of Christ and when a (C)door was opened for me in the Lord, 13 I (D)had no rest for my spirit, not finding (E)Titus my brother. But (F)saying farewell to them, I went on to (G)Macedonia.
14 (H)But thanks be to God, who always (I)leads us in triumphal procession in Christ, and manifests through us the (J)aroma of the (K)knowledge of Him in every place. 15 For we are a (L)fragrance of Christ to God among (M)those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; 16 (N)to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is (O)sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not like many, [a](P)peddling the word of God, but (Q)as from sincerity, but as from God, (R)in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
