Psalm 148

148 1 He provoketh all creatures to praise the Lord in heaven and earth, and all places. 14 Specially his Church, for the power that he hath given to the same, after that he had chosen them and joined them unto him.

Praise ye the Lord.

Praise ye the Lord from the heaven: praise ye him in the high places.

Praise ye him, all ye [a]his Angels: praise him, all his army.

Praise ye him, [b]sun and moon: praise ye him all bright stars.

Praise ye him [c]heavens of heavens, and [d]waters, that be above the heavens.

Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

And he hath established them forever and ever: he hath made an ordinance, which shall not pass.

Praise ye the Lord from the earth, ye [e]dragons and all depths:

[f]Fire and hail, snow and vapors, stormy wind, which execute his word.

Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars:

10 Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and feathered fowls:

11 [g]Kings of the earth and all people, princes and all judges of the world:

12 Young men and maidens, also old men and children:

13 Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for his Name only is to be exalted, and his praise above the earth and the heavens.

14 For he hath exalted the [h]horn of his people, which is a praise for all his Saints, even for the [i]children of Israel, a people that is near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.

Exodus 33:18-23

18 Again he said, I beseech thee, show me thy [a]glory.

19 And he answered, I will make all my [b]good go before thee, and I will [c]proclaim the Name of the Lord before thee: (A)for I will show [d]mercy to whom I will show mercy, and will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

20 Furthermore he said, Thou canst not see my face, for there shall no man see me, and [e]live.

21 Also the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by [f]me, and thou shalt stand upon the rock:

22 And while my glory passeth by, I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with mine hand while I pass by.

23 After I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my [g]back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

1 John 1:1-9

The First Epistle General of John

1 He testifieth that he bringeth the eternal word, wherein is life, 5 and light. 9 God will be merciful unto the faithful, if groaning under the burden of their sins, they learn to flee unto his mercy.

That [a]which was from the beginning, which we have [b]heard, which we have seen with these our eyes, which we have looked upon, and these hands of ours have handled of that [c]word of life,

(For that life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and [d]show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was made manifest unto us.)

That I say, which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, [e]that ye may also have fellowship with us, and that our fellowship also may be with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

And these things write I unto you, that your joy may be full.

[f]This then is the message, which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God (A)is light, and in him is no darkness.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not truly.

But if we walk in the [g]light as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, [h]and the (B)blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

(C)[i] If we say that we have no sin, we [j]deceive ourselves, and [k]truth is not in us.

[l]If we acknowledge our sins, he is [m]faithful and just, to [n]forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
