Psalm 148

148 1 He provoketh all creatures to praise the Lord in heaven and earth, and all places. 14 Specially his Church, for the power that he hath given to the same, after that he had chosen them and joined them unto him.

Praise ye the Lord.

Praise ye the Lord from the heaven: praise ye him in the high places.

Praise ye him, all ye [a]his Angels: praise him, all his army.

Praise ye him, [b]sun and moon: praise ye him all bright stars.

Praise ye him [c]heavens of heavens, and [d]waters, that be above the heavens.

Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

And he hath established them forever and ever: he hath made an ordinance, which shall not pass.

Praise ye the Lord from the earth, ye [e]dragons and all depths:

[f]Fire and hail, snow and vapors, stormy wind, which execute his word.

Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars:

10 Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and feathered fowls:

11 [g]Kings of the earth and all people, princes and all judges of the world:

12 Young men and maidens, also old men and children:

13 Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for his Name only is to be exalted, and his praise above the earth and the heavens.

14 For he hath exalted the [h]horn of his people, which is a praise for all his Saints, even for the [i]children of Israel, a people that is near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.

Jeremiah 26:1-9

26 2 Jeremiah moveth the people to repentance. 7 He is taken of the false prophets and priests, and brought to judgment. 23 Urijah the Prophet is killed of Jehoiakim contrary to the will of God.

In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah King of Judah, came this word from the Lord, saying,

Thus saith the Lord, Stand in the [a]court of the Lord’s House, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the Lord’s House, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them: keep not [b]a word back,

If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may [c]repent me of the plague, which I have determined to bring upon them because of the wickedness of their works.

And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord, If ye will not hear me to walk in my Laws, which I have set before you,

And to hear the words of my servants the Prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, and will not obey them,

Then will I make this House like [d]Shiloh, and will make this city [e]a curse to all nations of the earth.

So the Priests, and the Prophets, and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the House of the Lord.

Now when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak unto all the people, then the Priests, and the Prophets, and all the people took him, and said, Thou shalt die the death.

Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, [f]This House shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? and all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

Jeremiah 26:12-15

12 Then spake Jeremiah unto all the Princes and to all the people, saying, The Lord hath [a]sent me to prophesy against this House and against this city all the things that ye have heard.

13 Therefore now amend your ways, and your works, and hear the voice of the Lord your God, that the Lord may repent him of the plague, that he hath pronounced against you.

14 As for me, behold, I am in your hands: do with me as ye think good and right:

15 But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the Lord hath sent me unto you, to speak all these words in your ears.

Acts 6:8-15

[a]Now Stephen full of faith and [b]power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

[c]Then there arose certain of the [d]Synagogue, which are called Libertines, and Cyrenians, and of Alexandria, and of them of Cilicia, and of Asia, and disputed with Stephen.

10 [e]But they were not able to resist the wisdom, and the Spirit by the which he spake.

11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and God.

12 [f]Thus they moved the people and the Elders, and the Scribes: and running upon him, caught him, and brought him to the Council,

13 [g]And set forth false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the Law.

14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the ordinances which Moses gave us.

15 And as all that sat in the Council looked steadfastly on him, they [h]saw his face as it had been the face of an Angel.

Acts 7:51-60

51 (A)[a]Ye stiff-necked and of [b]uncircumcised hearts and ears, ye have always resisted the holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you.

52 Which of the Prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them, which showed before of the coming of that Just, of whom ye are now the betrayers and murderers,

53 (B)Which have received the law by the [c]ordinance of Angels, and have not kept it.

54 [d]But when they heard these things, their hearts brast for anger, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.

55 [e]But he being full of the holy Ghost, looked steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus [f]standing at the right hand of God,

56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens open, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God.

57 [g]Then they gave a shout with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and [h]ran upon him violently all at once,

58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the [i]witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, named Saul.

59 And they stoned Stephen, who called on God, and said, Lord Jesus receive my spirit.

60 [j]And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, [k]lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had thus spoken, he [l]slept.
