126 1 This Psalm was made after the return of the people from Babylon, and showeth that the means of their deliverance was wonderful after the seventy years of captivity forspoken by Jeremiah, in Jer. 25:12 and 29:10.
A song of degrees, or Psalm of David.
1 When the Lord brought again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that [a]dream.
2 Then was our mouth [b]filled with laughter, and our tongue with joy: then said they among the [c]heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.
3 The Lord hath done great things for us, whereof we rejoice.
4 O Lord, bring again our captivity, as the [d]rivers in the South.
5 They that sow in tears, shall reap in joy.
6 They went weeping, and carried [e]precious seed: but they shall return with joy, and bring their sheaves.
2 [a]O Lord, I have heard thy voice, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy [b]work in the midst of the people, in the midst of the years make it known: in wrath remember mercy.
3 God cometh from [c]Teman, and the holy One from mount Paran, Selah. His glory covereth the heavens, and the earth is full of his praise,
4 And his brightness was as the light: [d]he had horns coming out of his hands, and there was the hiding of his power.
5 Before him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth before his feet.
6 He stood and measured the earth: he beheld and dissolved the nations, and the everlasting mountains were broken, and the ancient hills did bow: his [e]ways are everlasting.
12 Not as though I had already attained to it, either were already perfect: but I follow, if that I may comprehend that for whose sake also I am [a]comprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself, that I have attained to it, but one thing I do: I forget that which is behind, and endeavor myself unto that which is before,
14 And follow hard toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 [b]Let us therefore as many as be [c]perfect, be thus minded: and if ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even the same unto you.
16 Nevertheless, in that whereunto we are come, let us proceed by one rule, that we may mind one thing.
