Exodus 19:7-20

(A)So Moses came and called the elders of the people and set before them all these words which Yahweh had commanded him. (B)And all the people answered together and said, “All that Yahweh has spoken we will do!” And Moses brought back the words of the people to Yahweh. Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I will come to you in (C)a thick cloud, so that the (D)people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe in you forever.” Then Moses told the words of the people to Yahweh.

10 Yahweh also said to Moses, “Go to the people and (E)set them apart as holy today and tomorrow, and let them (F)wash their garments; 11 and let them be ready for the third day, for on (G)the third day Yahweh will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. 12 And you shall set bounds for the people all around, saying, ‘[a]Beware that you do not go up on the mountain or touch the border of it; (H)whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death. 13 No hand shall touch him, but (I)he shall surely be stoned or surely [b]shot through; whether beast or man, he shall not live.’ When the ram’s horn sounds a long blast, they shall come up to (J)the mountain.” 14 So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and set the people apart as holy, and they washed their garments. 15 And he said to the people, “Be ready for the third day; do not go near a woman.”

16 (K)So it happened on the third day, when it was morning, that there were [c]thunder and lightning flashes and a [d]thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. 17 And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the [e]foot of the mountain.

Yahweh Descends on Mount Sinai

18 (L)Now Mount Sinai was all in smoke because Yahweh descended upon it (M)in fire; and its smoke ascended like (N)the smoke of a furnace, and (O)the whole mountain trembled violently. 19 And the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder; then Moses spoke and (P)God answered him with [f]thunder. 20 (Q)And Yahweh came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and Yahweh called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

Jude 17-25

Keep Yourselves in the Love of God

17 But you, (A)beloved, (B)must remember the words that were spoken beforehand by (C)the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18 that they were saying to you, “(D)In the last time there will be mockers, (E)following after their own ungodly lusts.” 19 These are the ones who cause divisions, [a](F)worldly-minded, not having the Spirit. 20 But you, (G)beloved, (H)building yourselves up on your most holy (I)faith, (J)praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, (K)waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. 22 And on some, who are doubting, have mercy; 23 and for others, save, (L)snatching them out of the fire; and on others have mercy with fear, (M)hating even the tunic polluted by the flesh.

24 (N)Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to (O)make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with (P)great joy, 25 to the (Q)only (R)God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, (S)be glory, majesty, might, and authority, (T)before all time and now and [b]forever. Amen.
