Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel and his redeemer, the Lord of hosts, [a]I am the first, and I am the last, and without me is there no God.
7 And who is like me, that shall [b]call and shall declare it, and set [c]it in order before me, since I appointed the [d]ancient people? and what is at hand, and what things are to come? let [e]them show unto them.
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee of old, and have declared it? [f]you are even my witnesses, whether there be a God beside me, and that there is no God that I know not.
11 [a]Teach me thy way, O Lord, and I will walk in thy truth: knit mine heart unto thee, that I may fear thy Name.
12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all mine heart: yea, I will glorify thy Name forever.
13 For great is thy mercy toward me, and thou hast delivered my soul from [b]the lowest grave.
14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have [c]sought my soul, and have not set thee before them.
15 But thou, O Lord, art a pitiful God and merciful, slow to anger, and great in kindness and truth.
16 Turn unto me, and have mercy upon me: give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the [d]son of thine handmaid.
17 Show a token of thy goodness toward me, that they which hate me, may see it, and be ashamed, because thou, O Lord, hast helped me and comforted me.
12 [a]Therefore brethren, we are debtors not to the flesh, to live after the flesh:
13 [b]For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye mortify the deeds of the body by the Spirit, ye shall live.
14 [c]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 [d]For ye have not received the [e]Spirit of bondage, to [f]fear again: but ye have received the Spirit of [g]adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The same Spirit beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.
17 [h]If we be children, we are also [i]heirs, even the heirs of God, and heirs annexed with Christ: [j]if so be that we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.
18 [k]For I [l]count that the afflictions of this present time are not worthy of the glory, which shall be showed unto us.
19 [m]For the fervent desire of the [n]creature waiteth when the sons of God shall be revealed,
20 Because the creature is subject to [o]vanity, not of its [p]own will, but by reason [q]of him, which hath subdued it under [r]hope,
21 Because the creature also shall be delivered from the [s]bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.
22 For we know that every creature groaneth with us also, and [t]travaileth in pain together unto this present.
23 [u]And not only the creature, but we also which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we do sigh in [v]ourselves, waiting for the adoption, even [w](A)the redemption of our body.
24 [x]For we are saved by hope: but [y]hope that is seen, is not hope: for how can a man hope for that which he seeth?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, we do with patience abide for it.
24 ¶ [a]Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a man which sowed good seed in his field.
25 But while men slept, there came his enemy and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 And when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 Then came the servants of the householder, and said unto him, Master, sowest thou not good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 And he said unto them, Some envious man hath done this. Then the servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay, lest while ye go about to gather the tares, ye pluck up also with them the wheat.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and in time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye first the tares, and bind them in sheaves to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
36 Then sent Jesus the multitude away, and went into the house. And his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of that field.
37 [a]Then answered he, and said to them, He that soweth the good seed, is the son of man,
38 And the field is the world, and the good seed are the children of the kingdom, and the tares are the children of that wicked one.
39 And the enemy that soweth them, is the devil, (A)and the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers be the Angels.
40 As then the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his Angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity,
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire. There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 (B)Then shall the just men shine as the sun in the kingdom of their father. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
