Psalm 66-67

Come and See the Works of God

For the choir director. A Song. A Psalm.

66 (A)Make a loud shout to God, all the earth;
Sing praise for the (B)glory of His name;
Establish His (C)praise as glorious.
Say to God, “How [a](D)fearsome are Your works!
Because of the abundance of Your strength Your enemies will [b](E)cower before You.
(F)All the earth will worship You,
And will (G)sing praises to You;
They will sing praises to Your name.” [c]Selah.

(H)Come and see the works of God,
Who is (I)fearsome in His deeds toward the sons of men.
He (J)turned the sea into dry land;
They passed through (K)the river on foot;
There let us (L)be glad in Him!
He (M)rules by His might forever;
His (N)eyes keep watch on the nations;
Let not the rebellious (O)exalt themselves. Selah.

Bless our God, O peoples,
And [d](P)make the sound of His praise heard,
Who [e](Q)establishes us among the living
And (R)does not allow our feet to stumble.
10 For You have (S)tested us, O God;
You have (T)refined us as silver is refined.
11 You (U)brought us into the net;
You established an oppressive burden upon our loins.
12 You made men (V)ride over our heads;
We went through (W)fire and through water,
Yet You (X)brought us out into a place of abundance.
13 I shall (Y)come into Your house with burnt offerings;
I shall (Z)pay You my vows,
14 Which my lips uttered
And my mouth spoke when I was (AA)in distress.
15 I shall (AB)offer to You burnt offerings of fat beasts,
With the smoke of (AC)rams;
I shall make an offering of [f]bulls with male goats. Selah.

16 (AD)Come and hear, all who [g]fear God,
And I will (AE)recount what He has done for my soul.
17 I called out to Him with my mouth,
And [h]He was (AF)exalted with my tongue.
18 If I [i](AG)see wickedness in my heart,
The (AH)Lord [j]will not [k]hear;
19 But certainly (AI)God has heard;
He has given heed to the voice of my prayer.
20 (AJ)Blessed be God,
Who (AK)has not turned away my prayer
Nor His lovingkindness from me.

Cause Your Face to Shine upon Us

For the choir director. With stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song.

67 God be gracious to us and (AL)bless us,
And (AM)cause His face to shine [l]upon us— [m]Selah.
That (AN)Your way may be known on the earth,
(AO)Your salvation among all nations.
Let the (AP)peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
Let the (AQ)nations be glad and sing for joy;
For You will (AR)judge the peoples with uprightness
And (AS)lead the nations on the earth. Selah.
Let the (AT)peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
The (AU)earth has yielded its produce;
God, our God, (AV)blesses us.
God blesses us,
[n]That (AW)all the ends of the earth may fear Him.

Psalm 19

The Law of Yahweh Is Perfect

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

19 The (A)heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And the (B)expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to (C)day pours forth [a]speech,
And (D)night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no [b]speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.
Their [c](E)line has gone out through all the earth,
And their utterances to the end of the world.
In them He has (F)placed a tent for the sun,
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;
It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.
Its (G)rising is from [d]one end of the heavens,
And its circuit to the [e]other end of them;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

(H)The law of Yahweh is [f](I)perfect, (J)restoring the soul;
The testimony of Yahweh is (K)sure, making (L)wise the simple.
The precepts of Yahweh are (M)right, (N)rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of Yahweh is (O)pure, (P)enlightening the eyes.
The fear of Yahweh is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of Yahweh are (Q)true; they are (R)righteous altogether.
10 They are more desirable than (S)gold, even more than much fine gold;
(T)Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them (U)Your slave is warned;
In keeping them there is great (V)reward.
12 Who can (W)discern his errors? (X)Acquit me of (Y)hidden faults.
13 Also keep back Your slave (Z)from presumptuous sins;
Let them not (AA)rule over me;
Then I will be [g](AB)blameless,
And I shall be acquitted of (AC)great transgression.
14 Let the [h]words of my mouth and (AD)the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Yahweh, (AE)my rock and my (AF)Redeemer.

Psalm 46

God Is Our Refuge and Strength

For the choir director. Of the sons of Korah. [a]According to Alamoth. A Song.

46 God is our (A)refuge and strength,
[b]A very (B)present help (C)in [c]trouble.
Therefore we will (D)not fear, though (E)the earth should change
And though (F)the mountains shake into the heart of the [d]sea;
Though its (G)waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its lofty pride. [e]Selah.

There is a (H)river whose streams make glad the (I)city of God,
The holy (J)dwelling places of the Most High.
God is (K)in the midst of her, she will not be shaken;
God will (L)help her [f]when morning dawns.
The [g]nations (M)roar, the kingdoms shake;
He (N)gives His voice, the earth (O)melts.
Yahweh of hosts (P)is with us;
The God of Jacob is (Q)our stronghold. Selah.

Come, (R)behold the works of Yahweh,
[h]Who has appointed (S)desolations in the earth.
He (T)makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He (U)breaks the bow and cuts up the spear;
He (V)burns the chariots with fire.
10 [i]Cease striving and (W)know that I am God;
I will be (X)exalted among the [j]nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 Yahweh of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.

Genesis 48:8-22

Then Israel (A)saw Joseph’s sons and said, “Who are these?” And Joseph said to his father, “(B)They are my sons, whom God has given me here.” So he said, “Bring them to me, please, that (C)I may bless them.” 10 Now (D)the eyes of Israel were so dim from age that he could not see. Then [a]Joseph brought them close to him, and he (E)kissed them and embraced them. 11 Then Israel said to Joseph, “I never [b]expected to see your face, and behold, God has let me see your seed as well.” 12 Then Joseph [c]took them from his knees and (F)bowed with his face to the ground. 13 And Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel’s left, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel’s right, and brought them close to him. 14 But Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on the head of Ephraim, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, [d]crossing his hands, [e]although (G)Manasseh was the firstborn. 15 And he blessed Joseph and said,

(H)May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked,
(I)The God who has been my shepherd [f]throughout my life to this day,
16 (J)The angel who has redeemed me from all evil,
(K)Bless these boys;
And may my name [g]live on in them,
And the [h]names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac;
And (L)may they grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”

17 But Joseph saw that his father (M)set his right hand on Ephraim’s head, and it was displeasing in his sight; so he took hold of his father’s hand to remove it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head. 18 And Joseph said to his father, “Not so, my father, for this one is the firstborn. Place your right hand on his head.” 19 But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know; he also will become a people, and he also will be great. However, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and (N)his seed shall become the fullness of nations.” 20 (O)And he blessed them that day, saying,

“By you Israel will pronounce blessing, saying,
‘May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh!’”

Thus he put Ephraim before Manasseh. 21 Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am about to die, but (P)God will be with you and (Q)will bring you back to the land of your fathers. 22 And I give you one [i]portion more than your brothers, (R)which I took from the hand of the Amorite with my sword and my bow.”

Romans 8:11-25

11 But if the Spirit of Him who (A)raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, (B)He who raised (C)Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies [a]through His Spirit who dwells in you.

12 So then, brothers, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— 13 for (D)if you are living according to the flesh, you [b]must die, but if by the Spirit you are (E)putting to death the (F)practices of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are (G)being led by the Spirit of God, these are (H)sons of God. 15 For you (I)have not received a spirit of slavery [c]leading to fear again, but you (J)have received the Spirit of adoption as sons by whom we cry out, “(K)Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself (L)testifies with our spirit that we are (M)children of God, 17 and if children, also (N)heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, (O)if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

Present Suffering and Future Glory

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (P)are not worthy to be compared with the (Q)glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the (R)anxious longing of the creation eagerly waits for (S)the revealing of the (T)sons of God. 20 For the creation (U)was subjected to (V)futility, not willingly, but (W)because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 [d]that (X)the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation (Y)groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 23 (Z)And not only this, but also we ourselves, having (AA)the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves (AB)groan within ourselves, (AC)eagerly waiting for our adoption as sons, (AD)the redemption of our body. 24 For (AE)in hope we were saved, but (AF)hope that is seen is not hope, for who hopes for what he already sees? 25 But (AG)if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we eagerly wait for it.

John 6:27-40

27 Do not (A)work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to (B)eternal life, which (C)the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, (D)set His seal.” 28 Therefore they said to Him, “What should we do, so that we may work the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is (E)the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He (F)has sent.” 30 So they said to Him, “(G)What then do You do for a (H)sign so that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform? 31 (I)Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘(J)He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” 32 Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, Moses has not given you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is [a]that which (K)comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” 34 Then they said to Him, “Lord, always (L)give us this bread.”

35 Jesus said to them, (M)I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will never hunger, and he who believes in Me (N)will never thirst. 36 But (O)I said to you that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe. 37 (P)All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never cast out. 38 For (Q)I have come down from heaven, (R)not to do My own will, but (S)the will of Him who (T)sent Me. 39 Now this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of (U)all that He has given Me I (V)lose nothing, but (W)raise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who (X)sees the Son and (Y)believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will (Z)raise him up on the last day.”
