Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)
Version
Psalm 36:5-10

Your (A)lovingkindness, O Yahweh, is in the heavens,
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Your (B)righteousness is like the [a]mountains of God;
Your (C)judgments are like a great deep.
O Yahweh, You (D)save man and beast.
How (E)precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
And the sons of men (F)take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
They [b]are (G)satisfied from the [c]richness of Your house;
And You give them to drink of the (H)river of Your delights.
For with You is the (I)fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.

10 Continue Your lovingkindness to (J)those who know You,
And Your (K)righteousness to the upright in heart.

Jeremiah 3:1-5

The Polluted Land

God [a]says, “(A)If a husband divorces his wife
And she goes from him
And belongs to another man,
Will he still return to her?
Will not that land be completely [b]polluted?
But you (B)are a harlot with many [c]lovers;
Yet you (C)turn to Me,” declares Yahweh.
“Lift up your eyes to the (D)bare heights and see;
Where have you not been ravished?
By the roads you have (E)sat for them
Like [d]an Arab in the wilderness,
And you have (F)polluted a land
With your harlotry and with your evil.
Therefore the (G)showers have been withheld,
And the [e]late rain has not [f]come.
Yet you had a (H)harlot’s forehead;
You refused to feel dishonor.
Have you not just now called to Me,
(I)My Father, You are the [g](J)close companion of my (K)youth?
(L)Will He be angry forever?
Will He keep it to the end?’
Behold, you have spoken
And have done evil things,
And you have [h]had your way.”

Acts 8:18-24

18 Now when Simon saw that the Spirit had been bestowed through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money, 19 saying, “Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” 20 But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you supposed you could (A)obtain the gift of God with money! 21 You have (B)no part or portion in this [a]matter, for your heart is not (C)right before God. 22 Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray earnestly to the Lord that, (D)if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you. 23 For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in (E)the [b]bondage of unrighteousness.” 24 But Simon answered and said, “(F)Pray earnestly to the Lord for me yourselves, so that nothing of what you have said may come upon me.”
