Psalm 36:5-10

Thy [a]mercy, O Lord, reacheth unto the heavens, and thy faithfulness unto the clouds.

Thy righteousness is like the [b]mighty mountains: thy judgments are like a great [c]deep: thou Lord, dost save man and beast.

How excellent is thy mercy, O God! therefore the children of men trust under the shadow of thy wings.

They shall be [d]satisfied with the fatness of thine house, and thou shalt give them drink out of the river of thy pleasures.

For with thee is the well of life, and in thy light shall we see light.

10 Extend thy loving-kindness unto them that [e]know thee, and thy righteousness unto them that are upright in heart.

Jeremiah 3:19-25

19 But I said, How did I take thee for children, and give thee a pleasant land, even the glorious heritage of the armies of the heathen, and say, Thou shalt call me, saying, My father, and shall not turn from me?

20 But as a woman rebelleth against her [a]husband: so have ye rebelled against me, O house of Israel, saith the Lord.

21 [b]A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping, and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and forgotten the Lord their God.

22 O ye disobedient children, return and I will heal your rebellions. [c]Behold, we come unto thee, for thou art the Lord our God.

23 Truly the hope of the hills is but vain, nor the multitude of mountains: but in the Lord our God is the health of Israel.

24 For confusion hath devoured our [d]father’s labor, from our youth, their sheep and their bullocks, their sons and their daughters.

25 We lie down in our confusion, and our shame covereth us: [e]for we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers from our youth, even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.

1 Corinthians 7:1-7

Entreating here of marriage, 4 which is a remedy against fornication, 10 and may not be broken,  18, 20 he willeth every man to live contented with his lot.  25 He showeth what the end of virginity should be, 35 and who ought to marry.

Now [a]concerning the things [b]whereof ye wrote unto me, It were [c]good for a man not to touch a woman.

Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

(A)[d]Let the husband give unto the wife [e]due benevolence, and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

[f]The wife hath not the power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not the power of his own body, but the wife.

Defraud not one another, [g]except it be with consent for a time, that ye may [h]give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and again come together, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

[i]But I speak this by permission, not by commandment.

For I [j]would that all men were even as I myself am: but every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
