72 1 He prayeth for the prosperous estate of the kingdom of Solomon, who was the figure of Christ, 4 under whom shall be righteousness, peace, and felicity. 10 Unto whom all Kings and nations shall do homage, 17 Whose name and power shall endure forever, and in whom all nations shall be blessed.
A Psalm [a]of Solomon.
1 Give thy [b]judgments to the King, O God, and thy righteousness to the King’s [c]son.
2 Then shall he judge thy people in righteousness, and thy poor with equity.
3 The [d]mountains, and the hills shall bring peace to the people by justice.
4 He shall [e]judge the poor of the people: he shall save the children of the needy, and shall subdue the oppressor.
5 They shall [f]fear thee as long as the sun and moon endureth, from generation to generation.
6 He shall come [g]down like the rain upon the mown grass, and as the showers that water the earth.
7 In his days shall the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace shall be so long as the moon endureth.
8 His dominion shall be also from [h]sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the land.
9 They that dwell in the wilderness, shall kneel before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust.
10 The kings of [i]Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings [j]of Sheba and Seba shall bring gifts.
11 Yea, all kings shall worship him: all nations shall serve him.
12 For he shall deliver the poor when he crieth: the needy also, and him that hath no helper.
13 He shall be merciful to the poor and needy, and shall preserve the souls of the poor.
14 He shall redeem their souls from deceit and violence, and [k]dear shall their blood be in his sight.
15 Yea, he shall live, and unto him shall they give of the [l]gold of Sheba: they shall also pray for him continually, and daily bless him.
16 An handful of corn shall be sown in the earth, even in the top of the mountains, and the [m]fruit thereof shalt shake like the trees of Lebanon: and the children shall flourish out of the city like the grass of the earth.
17 His name shall be forever: his name shall endure as long as the Sun: all nations shall bless [n]him, and be blessed in him.
18 Blessed be the Lord God, even the God of Israel which only doeth [o]wondrous things.
19 And blessed be his glorious Name forever: and let all the earth be filled with his glory. So be it, even so be it.

2 1 The dreams of Nebuchadnezzar. 13 The king commandeth all the wise men of Babylon to be slain, because they could not interpret his dream. 16 Daniel requireth time to solute the question. 24 Daniel is brought unto the king, and showeth him his dream, and the interpretation thereof. 44 Of the everlasting kingdom of Christ.
1 And in the [a]second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed [b]dreams wherewith his spirit was [c]troubled, and his [d]sleep was upon him.
2 Then the king commanded to call the enchanters, and the astrologians, and the sorcerers, and the [e]Chaldeans for to show the king his dreams: so they came and stood before the King.
3 And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.
4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in the [f]Aramite’s language, O king, live forever: show thy servants thy dream, and we shall show the interpretation.
5 And the King answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me. If ye will not make me understand the dream with the interpretation thereof, ye [g]shall be drawn in pieces, and your houses shall be made a jakes.
6 But if ye declare the dream and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards, and great honor: therefore show me the dream and the interpretation of it.
7 They answered again, and said, Let the king show [h]his servants the dream, and we will declare the interpretation thereof.
8 Then the king answered, and said, I know certainly that ye [i]would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
9 But if ye will not declare me the dream, there is but one judgment for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words, to speak before me till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, that I may know, if ye can declare me the interpretation thereof.
10 Then the Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is no man upon earth that can declare the king’s matter: yea, there is neither King nor Prince nor lord that asked such things at an enchanter, or astrologian, or Chaldean.
11 For it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can declare it before the king, except the gods whose dwelling is not with flesh.
12 For this cause the king was angry and in great fury, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babel.
13 ¶ And when sentence was given, the wise men were slain: and they [j]sought Daniel and his fellows to be put to death.
14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the king’s [k]chief steward, which was gone forth to put to death the wise men of Babel.
15 Yea, he answered and said unto Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the sentence so hasty from the king? Then Arioch declared the thing to Daniel.
16 So Daniel went and desired the king that he would give him leisure, and that he would show the king the interpretation thereof.
17 ¶ Then Daniel went to his house, and showed the matter to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah his companions,
18 That they should beseech the God of heaven for grace in this secret, that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babel.
19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a vision by night: therefore Daniel praised the God of heaven.
17 [a]This I say therefore and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as (A)other Gentiles walk, in [b]vanity of their mind.
18 Having their understanding darkened, and being strangers from the [c]life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart:
19 Which being [d]past feeling, have given themselves unto wantonness, to work all uncleanness, even with [e]greediness.
20 [f]But ye have not so learned Christ,
21 If so be ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, [g]as the truth is in Jesus,
22 (B)That is, that ye cast off, concerning the conversation in time past, [h]that old man, which is corrupt through the deceivable lusts,
23 And be renewed in the [i]spirit of your mind,
24 And put on the new man, which [j]after God is created unto [k]righteousness, and [l]true holiness.
25 [m]Wherefore cast off lying, and speak every man truth unto his neighbor: for we are members one of another.
26 [n]Be [o]angry, but sin not: let not the sun go down [p]upon your wrath,
27 Neither give place to the devil.
28 [q]Let him that stole, steal no more: but let him rather labor, and work with his hands the thing which is [r]good, that he may have to give unto him that needeth.
29 [s]Let no [t]corrupt communication proceed out of your mouths: but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister [u]grace unto the hearers.
30 [v]And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, by whom ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and anger, and wrath, crying, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all maliciousness.
32 Be ye courteous one to another, and tender hearted, freely forgiving one another, [w]even as God for Christ’s sake, freely forgave you.
5 3 Lest, in those vices which he reprehended, they should set light by his admonitions, 5 he terrifieth them by denouncing severe judgment, 8 and stirreth them forward: 15 Then he defendeth from general lessons of manners, 22 to the particular duties of wives, 25 and husbands.
