Genesis 45:3-11

Then Joseph said to his brothers, “(A)I am Joseph! (B)Is my father still alive?” But his brothers could not answer him, for (C)they were dismayed at his presence.

Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come [a]closer to me.” And they came [b]closer. And he said, “I am your brother Joseph, whom you (D)sold into Egypt. Now do not be grieved or angry [c]with yourselves, because (E)you sold me here, for (F)God sent me before you to preserve life. For the famine has been in the land (G)these two years, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. (H)God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive by a great [d]deliverance. Now, therefore, it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a (I)father to Pharaoh and lord of all his household and ruler over all the land of Egypt. Hurry and go up to my father, and (J)say to him, ‘Thus says your son Joseph, “God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not delay. 10 You shall [e]live in the land of (K)Goshen, and you shall be near me, you and your children and your children’s children and your flocks and your herds and all that you have. 11 There I will also (L)provide for you, for there are still five years of famine to come, and you and your household and all that you have would be impoverished.”’

Genesis 45:15

15 He kissed all his brothers and wept on them, and afterward his brothers talked with him.

Psalm 37:1-11

Security of Those Who Trust in the Lord, and Insecurity of the Wicked.

A Psalm of David.

37 (A)Do not fret because of evildoers,
Be not (B)envious toward wrongdoers.
For they will (C)wither quickly like the grass
And (D)fade like the green herb.
(E)Trust in the Lord and do good;
(F)Dwell in the land and [a](G)cultivate faithfulness.
(H)Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will (I)give you the desires of your heart.
(J)Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
He will bring forth (K)your righteousness as the light
And your judgment (L)as the noonday.

[b]Rest in the Lord and (M)wait [c]patiently for Him;
(N)Do not fret because of him who (O)prospers in his way,
Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
Cease from anger and (P)forsake wrath;
Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.
For (Q)evildoers will be cut off,
But those who wait for the Lord, they will (R)inherit the land.
10 Yet (S)a little while and the wicked man will be no more;
And you will look carefully for (T)his place and he will not be there.
11 But (U)the humble will inherit the land
And will delight themselves in (V)abundant prosperity.

Psalm 37:39-40

39 But the (A)salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
He is their strength (B)in time of trouble.
40 (C)The Lord helps them and delivers them;
He (D)delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
Because they (E)take refuge in Him.

1 Corinthians 15:35-38

35 But (A)someone will say, “How are (B)the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?” 36 (C)You fool! That which you (D)sow does not come to life unless it dies; 37 and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of [a]something else. 38 But God gives it a body just as He wished, and (E)to each of the seeds a body of its own.

1 Corinthians 15:42-50

42 (A)So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown [a](B)a perishable body, it is raised [b](C)an imperishable body; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in (D)glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a (E)natural body, it is raised a (F)spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So also it is written, “The first (G)man, Adam, became a living soul.” The (H)last Adam became a (I)life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47 The first man is (J)from the earth, [c](K)earthy; the second man is from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, (L)so also are those who are heavenly. 49 Just as we have (M)borne the image of the earthy, [d]we (N)will also bear the image of the heavenly.

The Mystery of Resurrection

50 Now I say this, brethren, that (O)flesh and blood cannot (P)inherit the kingdom of God; nor does [e]the perishable inherit [f](Q)the imperishable.

Luke 6:27-38

27 “But I say to you who hear, (A)love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, (B)pray for those who [a]mistreat you. 29 (C)Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your [b]coat, do not withhold your [c]shirt from him either. 30 Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. 31 [d](D)Treat others the same way you want [e]them to treat you. 32 (E)If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 (F)If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount. 35 But (G)love your enemies, and do good, and lend, [f]expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be (H)sons of (I)the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. 36 [g]Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

37 (J)Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; [h](K)pardon, and you will be pardoned. 38 Give, and it will be given to you. They will [i]pour (L)into your lap a (M)good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”
