Psalm 26:1-8

I Will Bless the Lord

Of David.

26 (A)Vindicate me, O Lord,
for I have (B)walked in my integrity,
and I have (C)trusted in the Lord without wavering.
(D)Prove me, O Lord, and try me;
test my heart and (E)my mind.[a]
For your (F)steadfast love is before my eyes,
    and I (G)walk in your (H)faithfulness.
I do not (I)sit with men of (J)falsehood,
nor do I consort with hypocrites.
I (K)hate the assembly of evildoers,
and I will not sit with the wicked.
I (L)wash my hands in innocence
and go round your altar, O Lord,
proclaiming thanksgiving aloud,
and telling all your (M)wondrous deeds.
O Lord, I (N)love the habitation of your house
and the place where your glory dwells.

Jeremiah 15:10-14

Jeremiah's Complaint

10 (A)Woe is me, my mother, that you bore me, a man of strife and contention to the whole land! (B)I have not lent, nor have I borrowed, yet all of them curse me. 11 The Lord said, “Have I not[a] set you free for their good? Have I not pleaded for you before the enemy in the time of trouble and in the time of distress? 12 Can one break iron, iron (C)from the north, and bronze?

13 (D)“Your wealth and your treasures I will give as (E)spoil, without price, for all your sins, throughout all your territory. 14 I will make you serve your enemies (F)in a land that you do not know, (G)for in my anger a fire is kindled that shall burn for ever.”

Matthew 8:14-17

Jesus Heals Many

14 (A)And when Jesus entered Peter's house, he saw (B)his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. 15 He (C)touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him. 16 That evening they brought to him many who were (D)oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits (E)with a word and healed all who were sick. 17 (F)This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: (G)“He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”
